𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | NV MWAI jins sweep gold in Team Poomsae at National Championships

Nueva Vizcaya represents MWAI jins Xian Gamata, Jacques Daniel Cordova, Noward Hlway Enriquez dominated the Team Poomsae event seizing the gold medal with a commanding score of 7.867 at the 2025 National Poomsae Championships held at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Manila, July 5.

Out of 9 teams, the dynamic trio edged out Team Metro Manila with 7.767 who claimed the silver medal, while Team Batangas and Team Iloilo both earned the bronze medals, rounding out the podium in a tightly contested team competition.

In addition to the team's triumph, Xian Gamata shone individually by capturing the gold medal in Individual Poomsae with an impressive score of 8.367, surpassing Team Batangas’ 8.234, while Team Iloilo once again took home the bronze, underscoring Nueva Vizcaya’s dominance in this year’s championships.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈 | MWAI launches House Cup 2025, igniting school spirit and camaraderie

To ignite school spirit and foster solidarity among students and teachers, Muir Woods Academy, Inc. (MWAI) officially launched the House Cup 2025 on July 2, marking the beginning of a year-long series of friendly inter-house competitions.

The annual House Cup brings together MWAI’s four houses—Verdant Hawks, Sapphire Stags, Golden Jaguars, and Crimson Foxes—in a celebration of teamwork, talent, and healthy rivalry. Freshmen and transferees were sorted evenly into these houses, while continuing students retained their current affiliations.

To kick off the festivities, representatives from each house showcased their energy and creativity in a lively dance showdown, setting the stage for a spirited day.

The event also featured various team-building games designed to promote inclusivity and collaboration, including the Octopus Relay, Cup Stack Relay, Arnis Stick Relay, Balloon Back Relay, and Hula Hoop Drag.

In a display of balanced strength and enthusiasm, the Golden Jaguars and Verdant Hawks emerged as co-champions, sharing first place. The Sapphire Stags claimed second place, while the Crimson Foxes earned third—each house demonstrating determination and vibrant school spirit throughout the day.

More than just a competition, the House Cup launch highlighted MWAI’s core values, offering a platform to strengthen bonds between students and teachers and cultivate a culture of cooperation, camaraderie, and mutual respect.

Among 10,907 examinees nationwide and 330 qualifiers from Region 02, her success is not only a testament to academic excellence but also to her unwavering dedication to service, science, and truth.

𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐔𝐏 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 | MWAI House Cup commences; Jaguars, Hawks to take lead early with 170 points

With Crimson Foxes, Golden Jaguars, Sapphire Stags, and defending champions Verdant Hawks locked in a fierce duel, Golden Jaguars and Verdant Hawks wasted no time reclaiming their dominance as they tied for the top spot of the leaderboard, each garnering 170 house points during the 2025 House Cup Games opener at Amazing Grace Gymnasium, July 2.

Trailing behind Jaguars and Hawks, Sapphire Stags followed in second place at 140 house points, and Crimson Foxes landed on third spot, scoring 120 house points.

The event featured five highly competitive yet friendly games: Octopus Relay; Cup Stack; Arnis Stick Relay; Balloon Back Relay; and the fun-filled Hula Hoop Drag with the teams’ respective housemasters.

The results for each game are as follows:

Game 1 Octopus Relay: Golden Jaguars, 1st place; Verdant Hawks, 2nd place; Sapphire Stags, 3rd place; and Crimson Foxes, 4th place.

Game 2 Cup Stack Relay: Golden Jaguars, 1st place; Verdant Hawks, 2nd place; Crimson Foxes, 3rd place; Sapphire Stags, 4th place.

Game 3 Arnis Stick Relay: Sapphire Stags, 1st place; Golden Jaguars, 2nd place; Verdant Hawks, 3rd place; Crimson Foxes, 4th place.

Game 4 Balloon Back Relay: Sapphire Stags, 1st place; Golden Jaguars, 2nd place; Verdant Hawks, 3rd place; Crimson Foxes, 4th place.

Game 5 Hula Hoop Drag: Verdant Hawks, 1st place; Crimson Foxes, 2nd place; Sapphire Stags, 3rd place; Golden Jaguars, 4th place.

In addition, Crimson Foxes sealed first spot in the best in attendance award; Verdant Hawks came in second, while Golden Jaguars and Sapphire Stags claimed third and fourth place, respectively.

With energy running high and school spirit on full display, the House Cup opener set the stage for an exciting year of friendly rivalry and sportsmanship, as this year’s House Cup unfurls.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | PASS Assessment maps students’ math skills, drives curriculum enhancement

To strengthen numeracy and improve quality of education, Muir Woods Academy, Inc. (MWAI), in partnership with Global Resources for Assessment, Curriculum, and Evaluation (GRACE), take the plunge to conduct the Math Performance Assessment of Standards and Skills (PASS), July 2.

The assessment sought to evaluate mathematical proficiency of the students, as well as, to gauge the effectiveness of current teaching styles, aligned with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) MATATAG curriculum.

Results of the assessment will be released soon and are expected to provide valuable insights that will help teachers refine instructional strategies and better support student learning.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | Campus Connect ignites school spirit and belonging at MWAI

In an effort to strengthen campus familiarity and foster a deeper sense of community, Muir Woods Academy, Inc. (MWAI) sparked school spirit through its school-wide acquaintance program, Campus Connect, at the Amazing Grace Gymnasium, June 13.

Spearheaded by the Supreme Student Learner Government (SSLG) in collaboration with faculty members, the event brought together learners from various grade levels with the goal of cultivating stronger connections within the MWAI community.

A series of collaborative and engaging games filled the venue with excitement, encouraging teamwork and school spirit. Students enthusiastically participated in activities such as In or Out: Muir Wolf Style, Battle of the Paws, Straw Relay, Lavarn: The Floor is Lava, and Finding Ka-MWAI Mo.

“This event was created to help you grow not just as students, but as people—people who can work with others, face challenges head-on, and lift one another up. Because here at MWAI, we believe in developing more than just bright minds—we’re here to shape brave hearts, strong character, and kind spirits," shared Jerianne Sanchez, SSLG President, during her opening message.

The program was held in two parts: Junior High School students took part in the morning session, while Senior High School students participated in the afternoon.

During the afternoon session, an orientation on Quipper was featured, MWAI’s new Learning Management System (LMS) for SHS, which will be used throughout the academic year to support digital learning.

Aside from games and orientations, the event also served as a platform for important updates. Students received their room assignments, and key announcements were made regarding class schedules, changes in school attire, and other preparations for the official opening of classes on June 16.

True to MWAI’s core values, Campus Connect served not only as an orientation, but also as a meaningful opportunity to build relationships among students and staff—highlighting what it truly means to belong to the Muir Woods community. #
