Muir Woods Academy Inc. (MWAI) emerged as a top performer in the Sayawit para sa Kalikasan 2025 competition, securing 2nd Place during the Environmental Awareness Month celebration held on December 4, 2025, at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

With this yearโ€™s theme โ€œKalikasan ay Buhay, Ating Mahalin; Hamon ng Klima Sama-samang Harapin,โ€ the event gathered schools across the province to showcase performances promoting environmental protection and climate action.

After a unified deliberation by the Board of Judges, the top five winners were announced:

1st Place: Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School
2nd Place: Muir Woods Academy Inc.
3rd Place: Bagabag National High School
4th Place: Solano High School
5th Place: Bintawan National High School

Their performance was skillfully shaped by coaches Raynalie Dispo, Marc Eldridge Bernabe, and Angelo Aban, whose guidance helped secure the schoolโ€™s impressive second-place finish.

The competition, organized in line with Environmental Awareness Month 2025, highlighted the creativity and advocacy of youth performers committed to safeguarding the environment.

MWAI CJs clinch awards in DSPC, 6 advance to RSPC

Muir Woods Academy, Inc.โ€™s (MWAI) campus journalists participated in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) and secured multiple individual awards at Villaverde Central School, November 26.

Amidst hundreds of competing journalists across Nueva Vizcaya, nine MWAI delegates earned placements, with six advancing to the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).

Muir Woods Academy Inc.โ€™s (MWAI) phenomenal swimmers, Javiere Buen, Forth Campos IV, Anjela Tiongson, Marc Ordoรฑez, Ken Jandoc, and Sebastian Bernabe, outpaced competitors across multiple events and securing multiple podium finishes during the Bayombong Municipal Sports Meet, held at Tam-an Mountain Resort, November 22.

In the menโ€™s division, MWAI opened strong in the 400m Freestyle, with Campos clocking an impressive 5:41 to take 1st place, followed by Jandoc in 4th at 9:14. In the 50m Breaststroke, Buen surged ahead for 1st in 43.31 seconds, while Jandoc finished in 1:08. The team continued to dominate in the 50m Butterfly, securing a 1โ€“2 finish as Ordoรฑez touched the wall at 30.28 seconds, closely followed by Bernabe at 30.38 seconds.

Bernabe maintained his winning form, taking 1st place in both the 100m Freestyle (1:09) and 100m Butterfly (1:13). In the 100m Breaststroke, Campos captured 1st in 1:27, with Buen following in 2nd at 1:33, while Jandoc earned 6th in the 100m Backstroke with 3:16. The boys closed the meet with fast times in the 50m Freestyle, as Ordoรฑez dominated at 26.61 for 1st place, and Bernabe secured 2nd at 27.00.

Representing the girlsโ€™ division, Tiongson delivered consistently strong performances, finishing 2nd in the 400m Freestyle (7:35) and 50m Breaststroke (56.88), 3rd in the 50m Butterfly (47.50), 1st in the 50m Backstroke (47.00), and 2nd in the 50m Freestyle (1:31).

Following their triumph, Campos, Ordoรฑez, Bernabe, Buen, and Tiongson are set to represent the municipality of Bayombong at Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Athletic Association (NVPAA) Meet this December.
