DENGUE CASES UPDATE | For the period September 14 - 20 (Morbidity Week 38), there were 30 dengue cases recorded in the province of Benguet which bring to a total of 1,564 from January 1 to September 20, 2025, 81% lower compared to the 8,032 cases monitored on the same period in CY2024.
Data from the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit show that the municipality of Itogon still has the highest incidence with 428 recorded cases followed by the municipalities of La Trinidad and Tublay with 256 and 205, respectively.
The public is urged to be cautious and avoid mosquito bites specially this rainy season. Practice the 4S Strategy Kontra Dengue:
1. SEEK EARLY CONSULTATION: Consult your nearest healthcare center for proper medical treatment and advice when symptoms such as fever, headache, joint and muscle pains, diarrhea, loss of appetite, vomiting, and or rashes are observed or experienced.
2. SEARCH AND DESTROY MOSQUITO BREEDING SITES: Check your surroundings for stagnant waters and clean these areas to prevent mosquitoes to breed and multiply. Practice 4Ts: TAOB, TAKTAK, TUYO, TAKIP.
3. SELF-PROTECTION: This rainy season, wear long-sleeved clothing, and use insect sprays, insect repellants, mosquito nets, and window screens.
