ADVISORY | In response to the ongoing weather threat brought by Super Typhoon Pepito, we have activated our Incident Command System (ICS) since yesterday, November 15 as confirmed by the Incident Commander and University President Dr. Victor Catigbe Cañezo Jr. and the BiPSU Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Safety Officer, Mr. Pablo Cepriano.
Dr. Cañezo confirmed that as of yesterday, a total of eight evacuees, consisting of three families who are not BiPSU employees but residents of Hospital Drive, Brgy. Sabang, and Busali in Biliran, are currently being sheltered at the BiPSU Hostel and Dormitory. In addition, several cars belonging to Naval residents have been safely parked on the university grounds at their request.
Our BiPSU campus is still accepting student, employees, and all Biliranons who need temporary refuge. Those seeking shelter are encouraged to bring their IDs and register at the ICS Center located on the Ground Floor of the Maritime Building.
The university has also designated specific areas, particularly at the 2nd floor, Maritime Building, to serve as evacuation centers for students unable to return to their homes due to the ongoing weather conditions.
As we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our community members during this critical time, we encourage everyone to stay safe.
