Charly Coronel Suarez (born August 14, 1988) is a Filipino professional boxer who competed for the WBO junior lightweight title in 2025. He previously held the WBO International Super Featherweight Champion title in 2024. Suarez also represented the Philippines as an amateur at the 2016 Summer Olympics. As of May 2025, he was ranked #8 by The Ring and #9 by ESPN in the junior lightweight division.
Suarez, ranked #1 by the WBO, faced Emanuel Navarrete for his WBO junior lightweight title on May 10, 2025, at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, airing live on ESPN. Navarrete was unable to continue after suffering a cut over his left eyebrow in the eighth round. Referee Edward Collantes ruled the cut to be from an accidental clash of heads, resulting in a technical decision win for Navarrete (78-75, 77-76, 77-76). However, later footage suggested the cut originated from a Suarez punch in the sixth round, potentially a TKO victory for Suarez had it been ruled as such. Team Suarez appealed to the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), who overturned the decision to a no contest on June 2, 2025, leading the WBO to order a rematch.
