𝐔𝐑𝐒 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬' 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The University of Rizal System (URS) will start implementing a system-wide switch to alternative learning modalities for all classes from October 6 to 8, 2026, based on Office Memorandum No. 01, s. 10-2026 that was issued last October 1, 2026.

The said memorandum, signed by the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs Allan E. Conde, PhD, was issued in accordance with Office of the President Memorandum No. 142, s. 2026 to facilitate activities for the university's World Teachers' Day Celebration 2026. Based on the said memorandum, all classes at URS campuses during the said event will be switched to any available alternative learning modality.

In addition, faculty members are also encouraged to plan ahead and inform students of the classes they will be shifting to in order to ensure a seamless transition and avoid disruptions in their learning. Moreover, Contract of Service (COS) instructors were also asked to conduct classes through an alternative modality and submit an Individual Work Accomplishment Report (IWAR). According to the memorandum, the temporary switch will enable faculty members to join scheduled festivities without disrupting students' activities.

The University of Rizal System (URS) will implement a campus-wide alternative work arrangements and learning modalities on September 28, 2026, following the suspension of work in government agencies and state universities and colleges.

Under Office Advisory No. 13, all URS campuses and offices will observe alternative work arrangements from the start of working hours until noon. Morning classes will also be conducted through alternative learning modalities, including synchronous or asynchronous online classes.

Faculty members and non-teaching personnel covered by the arrangement are required to submit an Individual Work Accomplishment Report (IWAR). Personnel performing essential functions may still be required to report for duty.

The University of Rizal System will implement an Alternative Work Arrangement and Learning Modality on September 24, 2026, in line with the 21st Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Awarding Rites at the Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Tanghalang Sining (EARTS), URS Morong Campus, starting 1:00 PM.

Per Office Memorandum No. 137, s. 09-2026 signed by University President Dr. Nancy T. Pascual, non-teaching staff not involved in the event shall observe a work-from-home (WFH) setup, while faculty and students shall hold classes through flexible online learning.

Personnel with essential functions are still required to report for duty, and non-participating staff must submit their Daily Individual Work Accomplishment Report (DIWAR) for the day.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: 𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐆 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 𝐎𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠

The newly elected officers of the University Student Supreme Government (USSG) for A.Y. 2026-2027 formally took their oath of office on September 21, 2026 at the Director's Office, pledging to serve the student body with integrity, dedication, and accountability.

Ronald Allan Bularin of the College of Business (COB) was elected President, while John Rhodfael Achilles of the College of Computer Studies (CCS) won as Vice President for External Affairs. Jhon Romel Borromeo of the College of Accountancy (COA) was chosen as Auditor, and Angel Coleen Lopez of COB will serve as Business Manager. Three CCS students, Lorenz Jov Enriquez, Neil Paolo Nicolas, and Alexis Akol, were elected as Councilors.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by Dr. Joanne S. Concepcion, Campus Director, together with Ms. Evelyn V. Diaz, SOA Coordinator, and Dr. Irene E. Abe, SDS Coordinator.

Work in all agencies and instrumentalities of the National Government, including government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs), will be suspended on September 28, 2026, starting at 1:00 p.m.

The suspension is in observance of “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day” and the 34th National Family Week, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 136, s. 2026.

Agencies providing basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services will continue operations.

The suspension of work in other government branches, independent commissions or bodies, and the private sector is also encouraged.

Mirroring the University of Rizal System–Binangonan's (URSB) 2025 University Supreme Student Government (USSG) Miting de Avance, this year's candidates held their own today, September 17, at the URSB grounds, once again facing no opposition in the upcoming polls.

The candidates presented their platforms and proposed programs to the URSBiano student body as part of the last major event before the polls.

Some of the platforms presented are student consultations through room-to-room visits, OJT partnership with companies, transparency and financial reports, leadership training, webinars and seminars, and an online Student Connect platform for student concerns and complaints.

Candidates also fielded questions from students on their plans for the student body and how these would be carried out, with the forum also serving as students' main opportunity to raise concerns directly to the aspirants before voting.

During the question-and-answer portion, one student challenged the aspiring leaders on what they were willing to give up for the truth that their fellow students deserve to know, citing that “truth does not fear scrutiny.”

Responding to the question, the aspiring president said, “Wala (ho) kaming ipagpapalit, kasi mag-stick po kami sa programs and projects dahil alam namin ito yung mas maganda.”

With the voting period coming closer, only seven independent aspirants are confirmed to run for USSG posts, five candidates short to fill in the whole USSG roster.

Filing for candidacy opened on July 24, with results originally set for release on August 14, a timeline that has since been adjusted repeatedly, with results now expected on September 20.

The University Supreme Student Government (USSG) Miting de Avance 2026 is currently underway today, September 17, at the University of Rizal System–Binangonan (URSB) grounds.

Seven confirmed USSG aspirants are presenting their platforms and proposed programs before the URSBiano student body, with no opposing partylist fielded in this year’s elections.

The candidates are also answering questions from students on their plans, proposed programs, and how these would be implemented if elected.

The Miting de Avance serves as one of the final major activities before the upcoming polls, with the candidates continuing to engage with students as the election period draws closer.

Suceré brought its “Sweet Campus Tour” to the University of Rizal System–Binangonan Campus (URSB) today, September 15, giving out free chocolates and cookies to students and members of the school community, at the URSB grounds.

The campus tour aims to share sweet treats, with Head Staff, Arvin Cueto leading the activity.

A sudden downpour prompted student leaders of the University of Rizal System–Binangonan Campus (URSB) to repeat their oath-taking ceremony for Academic Year 2026–2027 on September 3 at the URSB campus grounds.

The first part of the ceremony was interrupted by the rain, requiring the organizers and student leaders to conduct the oath-taking again.

Representatives from various accredited organizations participated, including the College of Accountancy Student Body (COASB), College of Business Student Body (COBSB), College of Computer Studies Student Body (CCSSB), Junior Philippine Institute of Accountancy (JPIA), Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX), Junior Marketing Advocates (JMA), Human Resource Specialists (HRS), and Junior Office Administration (JOA).

Other participating organizations were the Information Technology Students’ League (ITSL), Information System Students’ League (ISSL), CCS i-Connect Student Society (ICSS), Junior Disaster Risk Reduction Corps (JDRRC), Public Affairs, Headlines, Information, and Nexus Advocates (PAHINA), Digital Photography Club (DPC), Berea Campus Ministry, K3, DANZ Company, and URSB Pride (Pioneering Respect, Inclusivity, Diversity and Empowerment).

Two newly accredited student organizations from the College of Computer Studies also joined the ceremony.

Dean, College of Business, Dr. Albert Q. Clemente administered the oath to the organization representatives and leaders. The program also featured opening remarks from Campus SDS Coordinator, Dr. Irene E. Abe, a unity dance by DANZ Co. and student leaders and closing remarks from Prof. Evelyn V. Diaz, In-Charge of Student Organization and Activities.

The oath-taking was completed after being repeated due to the sudden rainfall.
