๐ˆ๐‚๐˜๐Œ๐ˆ | President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. surprised the nation during his 5th SONA, announcing that the Philippines will launch its first rocket into space next year in partnership with a South Korean aerospace firm.

Marcos identified Cagayan as the ideal "gateway" for the launch, as it is geographically and economically suited to host a spaceport.

This project is in partnership with a South Korean aerospace company. The space rocket launch is expected to boost research, astronomical studies, and progress that meets global standards.

Marcos highlighted that the initiative will create jobs to help address peopleโ€™s financial needs and will also maintain the countryโ€™s competitiveness for economic growth which will lead to more projects and investments.

๐ˆ๐‚๐˜๐Œ๐ˆ | In his 5th SONA, President Ferdinand Marcos stated that all necessary steps have been taken to trace the mastermind of the flood control scandal.

Marcos mentioned that some of those liable have already been arrested and convicted, including contractors, high-ranking officials, and even legislators.

He also said that the Ombudsman has already spoken, and that former House Speaker Cong. Martin Romualdez is now facing multiple cases over the allegations.

Marcos admitted that it is hard for him to say that his cousin, Romualdez, may be among those who will be put to jail. He stressed that, he is not only the President of his family or friends, but the President of the Philippines.

A raised fist holding a pen stands as a powerful symbol: using words to shatter silence and shield the truth from suppression. On this special day, schools across the country highlight the importance of campus journalism in giving voice to the marginalized and defending the public's right to know. This observance was officially established under Republic Act No. 11440 on August 28, 2019.

Amidst the growing clamor for justice and transparency, the campus press remains steadfast in its pursuit of truth. It serves as a vital reminder to every student that freedom is not merely a privilege, but a duty. As long as there are raised fists holding pens, democracy will continue to thrive.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š || Biri marks 57th year with call for unity and mutual cooperation

BIRI, Northern Samar โ€” Emphasizing unity and progress, the municipality celebrated its 57th Founding Anniversary at the Municipal Covered Court on June 21, highlighted by the annual State of the Municipality Address and a vibrant display of local culture.

Adhering to the theme of pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan (unity and mutual cooperation), local officials, employees, and residents donned elegant Filipinianas throughout the gathering.

The formal program opened with an invocation, followed by the Philippine National Anthem, the Biri Tourism Jingle, and the Himno san Biri. Birianon Youths Mike Laurence Borbon and Angel Faith Rivera hosted the event, while Municipal Vice Mayor Ana B. Araojo officially welcomed the attendees with a message of solidarity.

Moments later, the local government recognized community achievers, awarding certificates to successful licensure and Civil Service Professional Eligibility examinees, alongside outstanding local employees. A key highlight of the event was the presentation of Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Resolution No. 129, Series of 2025, which honored Mayor Antonio B. Delos Reyes Jr. for his leadership and artistic contributions to the town.

The celebration also featured a Filipiniana Showcase, where participants walked the ramp to compete for the "Best Filipiniana Outfit." In between the activities, uniformed personnel were acknowledged for their service, and students from Biri National High School performed a traditional folk dance.

In his State of the Municipality Address, Mayor Delos Reyes Jr. delivered a message of hope, urging residents to remain cooperative while remaining open to civic discourse.
