BIRI, Northern Samar โ€” In celebration of Womenโ€™s Month, a coastal clean-up activity titled โ€œLakaw para sa Kababayin-anโ€ was successfully held early in the morning of March 21, 2026, starting at 6:00 AM.

The activity began at the Biri Covered Court and continued all the way to the Magasang Beach Front. It gathered participants from different sectors of the community, including BNHS teachers and students, Municipal Local Officials, as well as personnel from the Rural Health Unit(RHU), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). The clean-up showed strong teamwork and a shared goal of protecting the environment.

After the activity, participants returned to the Municipal Covered Court for the formal program, which followed the theme โ€œGive to Gain.โ€ The program opened with the Philippine National Anthem and a prayer, followed by the statement of purpose delivered by Alexander D. Dela Fuente Jr.

Mrs. Celyn N. Deculawan, PhD, gave the opening remarks, welcoming everyone and highlighting the importance of unity and recognizing the role of women in the community. An intermission number from BPAO added energy to the event.

The highlight of the program was the message from the keynote speaker, former Municipal Mayor Dr. Amelita B. Delos Reyes. She shared inspiring thoughts about womenโ€™s strength, leadership, and the value of giving back to the community.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to several guests and partners, including local officials and representatives from PNP, BFP, and the Coast Guard. The recognition showed appreciation for their support and participation in the event.

Another intermission followed, featuring a song performance by BPAO members Heart Jean Guianan and Leobel Gayda, which entertained the audience.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Joevin P. Jagonoy, Assistant School Principal II, who thanked all participants for their cooperation and effort. The event was hosted by emcee Mrs. Jergene B. Ubac.

The Womenโ€™s Month celebration through this activity was a success, bringing people together to support a meaningful cause. It clearly showed that through unity and action, the community can make a positive difference. #

Most of the time, women are perceived as complex, complicated, indecisive, or even irrational.

Those who view these traits as "typical" might agree on the surface, but in a deeper sense, these qualitiesโ€”while trueโ€”are simply what make a woman human. However, these labels do not define them; rather, women embody a depth that far exceeds what one might ponder. These traits are the very bricks from which a woman is built.

They are complex because they care deeply. They look beyond the horizon because they feel a responsibility to watch over the universe where their loved ones reside. They are complicated because they never let feelings die in an instant; they are natural empaths who honor the weight of emotion. They are indecisive not because they are clouded, but because they consider the love they have to offer before surrendering themselves to the world. And they may seem irrational because they feel pain acutelyโ€”yet even when hurting, they choose to love purely and unconditionally.

Take Mary, a woman who accepted a daunting fate. For her, this was not just destiny; it was a mission and the dawn of unyielding faith. She began as an ordinary woman living a peaceful life, yet she was born to be the most favored of all. While some might see this as a privilege, for her, it was a calling. It was through Maryโ€™s courageous "Yes"โ€”a simple yet profound word that the floodgates of divine love were opened to the world. In that one moment of radical surrender, she bridged the gap between the earthly and the eternal, proving that one womanโ€™s choice can redefine the future.

Her "Yes" was not a passive submission, but an active, brave opening of a door that allowed unconditional love to take root in human history. Because she dared to say yes to the unknown, she paved the way for every woman after her to realize that their own voices, their own choices, and their own "yeses" have the power to bring light into the darkest corners of the world. She lived no ordinary life, preparing herself to show the world the true face of unconditional love.

This genuine love is seen clearly in the figure of a woman the world has known for thousands of yearsโ€”a woman who carried more than the world should ever have asked. She is the epitome of strength, courage, and faith. Every woman, no matter her path, is a mirror of that love. Behold: you are a woman with everything to offer. But, never think that "giving" is your only worth. You are a woman because you lead the world in discovering what love truly is.

HAPPY WOMENโ€™S MONTH!

BIRI, NORTHERN SAMAR โ€” To equip learners with the tools for future success, Biri National High School held a comprehensive career orientation and information session at the Biri Municipal Covered Court on March 12.

The program began with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Mrs. Gina S. Egneo, followed by an interfaith prayer led by Mrs. Deocilyn Escasinas. These opening activities set a respectful and reflective tone for the event.

A motivational message from Assistant School Principal II Mr. Joevin P. Jagonoy was delivered by Academic Department Head Mr. Arante N. Arce. The message encouraged students to believe in their abilities and to prepare themselves for the opportunities that lie ahead. The program was smoothly hosted by the Master of Ceremony, Mrs. Rena B. Dones.

Biri PESO Manager Maria Ebrada-Van Dervis shared valuable insights during the career orientation, highlighting the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES). She explained that students aged 15 and above with good academic standing and families earning โ‚ฑ16,000 or below may apply, giving them the chance to gain meaningful work experience.

Beyond the program, she encouraged students to thoughtfully choose careers that align with their skills, interests, and dreams, emphasizing that early preparation and practical experience can open doors to a brighter future.

Mrs. Celyn N. Deculawan inspired students to stay focused on their goals, embrace challenges, and pursue success with determination. She reminded them that passion, perseverance, and self-belief are the keys to turning dreams into reality.

The orientation proper featured several informative discussions. Mrs. Jergene Ubac talked about setting adult goals, helping students reflect on their future plans. Mrs. Deocilyn Escasinas discussed personal work values and competencies. Students rated their skills and reflected on their strengths and areas to improve for their future careers. Mr. Robert Adrian Abayon discussed learning assessments, personal interests, values, and healthy competition, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness in career choices.

Mr. Argie Delos Reyes introduced the Senior High School Career Interest Clusters, career exploration mapping, and career sector exploration, giving students a clearer understanding of the different paths they may take in the future. Meanwhile, Mrs. Gina S. Egneo and Mrs. Shirley M. Paredes discussed the role of family in career decisions, choosing the right path, and building a career portfolio.

The event concluded with a closing message from Academic Department Head Mr. Arante N. Arce. Students left the orientation inspired by the message that guided the entire program:

โ€œThe journey becomes easier when you know where to go, whom to be, and what action to take.โ€

The orientation served as a valuable opportunity for students to gain knowledge, inspiration, and confidence as they prepare for their future careers.

Biri, Northern Samar โ€” The spirit of creativity and artistic excellence filled the Biri Municipal Covered Court as Biri National High School successfully held Fashion Revolution Season 2 and Biri NHS Got Talent, an event that celebrated studentsโ€™ talents as part of the schoolโ€™s Arts Month festivities. The program officially began at 6:00 PM, drawing students, teachers, and members of the community to witness a night of fashion, performance, and inspiration.

Before the competitions began, the board of judges was formally presented to the audience. The distinguished panel included Maria Ebrada-Van Der Viz, Emmanuel Parane Jr, Raffy Alota, Michael Frumenz Lagrimas, and Gabriel Tobes Jr, who were tasked with evaluating the contestantsโ€™ creativity, style, and performance.

The evening opened with Fashion Revolution Season 2, where nine pairs of models confidently took over the runway and showcased four powerful fashion themes: Blue Jeans Street Wear, Red Classic Casual, Black Rebel-Punk, and White Divine. Each outfit reflected the studentsโ€™ originality, creativity, and passion for fashion, as designers and models worked together to bring bold concepts to life.

After the runway presentations, the stage shifted to Biri NHS Got Talent, where the talented students of Biri National High School captivated the audience with impressive performances that highlighted their artistic abilities.
