๐๐๐๐ || Biri marks 57th year with call for unity and mutual cooperation
BIRI, Northern Samar โ Emphasizing unity and progress, the municipality celebrated its 57th Founding Anniversary at the Municipal Covered Court on June 21, highlighted by the annual State of the Municipality Address and a vibrant display of local culture.
Adhering to the theme of pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan (unity and mutual cooperation), local officials, employees, and residents donned elegant Filipinianas throughout the gathering.
The formal program opened with an invocation, followed by the Philippine National Anthem, the Biri Tourism Jingle, and the Himno san Biri. Birianon Youths Mike Laurence Borbon and Angel Faith Rivera hosted the event, while Municipal Vice Mayor Ana B. Araojo officially welcomed the attendees with a message of solidarity.
Moments later, the local government recognized community achievers, awarding certificates to successful licensure and Civil Service Professional Eligibility examinees, alongside outstanding local employees. A key highlight of the event was the presentation of Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Resolution No. 129, Series of 2025, which honored Mayor Antonio B. Delos Reyes Jr. for his leadership and artistic contributions to the town.
The celebration also featured a Filipiniana Showcase, where participants walked the ramp to compete for the "Best Filipiniana Outfit." In between the activities, uniformed personnel were acknowledged for their service, and students from Biri National High School performed a traditional folk dance.
In his State of the Municipality Address, Mayor Delos Reyes Jr. delivered a message of hope, urging residents to remain cooperative while remaining open to civic discourse.
