๐—ฆ๐—ฃ๐—ข๐—ง๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—š๐—›๐—ง | In a meaningful show of ecumenical unity, the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) joined the celebration of the 123rd Proclamation Anniversary of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente on August 2, 2025 at Poblacion, Cortes Gymnasium.

Represented by Pastor Titus Jun Reveche and Rev. Joel Mantilla, the UCCP Associate Conference of Surigao delivered a heartfelt message of solidarity, affirming the deep bond between both churches and their shared mission of serving God and the people. Pastor Titus conveyed their warm greetings and praised IFIโ€™s steadfast witness to freedom, justice, and service over the decades.

This yearโ€™s celebration was made even more meaningful by the recognition of the 26th anniversary of the Covenant Partnership between UCCP and IFIโ€”an enduring symbol of mutual faith, cooperation, and prophetic ministry. The solidarity message emphasized the power of unity amidst diversity, reminding everyone that the Church's mission transcends traditions and flourishes through collective struggle for peace, human rights, and the reign of Godโ€™s justice and love.

๐—œ๐—ก ๐—ฃ๐—›๐—ข๐—ง๐—ข๐—ฆ | Following the meaningful celebration of the Iglesia Filipina Independienteโ€™s 123rd Proclamation Anniversary and 10th Diocesan Thanksgiving Day, the Diocese of Cortes gathers once moreโ€”this time around the tableโ€”for a spirit-filled fellowship lunch. United in faith and gratitude, clergy, lay members, and delegates come together to share not only food, but stories, laughter, and the joy of community.

This fellowship meal is a celebration of kinship, a moment to strengthen bonds, and a reflection of the Churchโ€™s mission to walk together in unity and love. As plates are filled and hearts are warmed, we are reminded that the table of fellowship is where faith becomes tangible, and communion becomes lived experience.

With joy and thanksgiving, the Parish of St. Andrew, the Apostle celebrates the culmination of the 2025 Vacation Church School (VCS) program. A total of 21 studentsโ€”5 nursery, 11 younger, and 5 olderโ€”successfully completed the faith formation activities.

Teachers Mary Grace Ruiz, Fiona Lazo, and Angel Magbitang devoted their time and talents in guiding the children throughout the program. They worked under the leadership of Committee on Education and Nurture Chairperson Ma'am Enya M. Gallo, and the spiritual direction of Rev. Fr. Moncelito G. Gamosa, parish priest.

Moreover, the culmination day featured joyful presentations of songs, memory verses, and creative expressions of faith by the students. Proud parents, parishioners, and church leaders gathered to witness the spirit-filled celebration.

The event was made possible through the generosity and support of the sponsors from all district and clusters of Mangagoy Parish, including the Parish Council. Their combined efforts made the VCS 2025 a meaningful and successful spiritual journey for the young children.

See you next year, kids!

With hearts ready to serve and a shared calling for children teaching ministry, 29 youth delegates from eight parishes and missions of Deanery 2 gathered for the Vacation Church School (VCS) Teachers' Training with the theme: "Ako ay Tinawag" on May 16โ€“17 at the Parish of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Mangagoy, Bislig City.

The two-day formation empowered young church teachers with practical tools and spiritual formation to guide them in leading their parish VCS programs through engaging in workshops and interactive sessions.

Mangagoy Parish Youth Leaders served as the main speakers, Mark Brian Lagrio, Mark Anthony Lagrio, and Jainne Rhyne Angela Lorenzana shared personal testimonies and practical insights, lessons, and strategies, equipping delegates for the mission.

The training was further blessed by the presence of four newly graduated seminariansโ€”Bro. Jayson Digaman, Bro. Richie Jabagat, Sis. Jelyn Dupo, and Sis. Joan Quinpan.

As the training came to a close, the delegates returned to their parishes with renewed zeal, a deeper sense of purpose, and a firm commitment to serve. Carrying the knowledge and wisdom shared, they will serve as amplifiers of God-centered teachings to the children of their respective parishes and missions.
