The College of Environmental Studies (CES) of Marinduque State University (MarSU) held its 2nd Testimonial and Recognition Ceremony on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Filipiniana Section of the MarSU Learning Resource Center, paying tribute to its graduating students, academic achievers, and student leaders.
The preliminaries commenced the ceremony at 9 in the morning. CES Dean, Dr. Evangeline Mandia, welcomed everyone and praised the students for their hard work, the faculty for their support, and families for their encouragement during their studies.
Mr. Ronnel Nolos announced the candidates for graduation from the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (BSES) program. The college then recognized the Deanโs Listers for the First Semester, inviting them to the stage with their proud parents.
A key moment was the presentation of awards for academic excellence. The college recognized the Top 3 Best Theses, the Top 3 Best Papers in Governance, and the Top 3 Best Papers in Natural Resources Management, along with other exceptional student research works, showing the college's commitment to its namesake.
Four students received medals for being Academic Achievers and are potential Latin Honors graduates:
- Jovert Quindoza
- Precious Monterozo
- Micka Ella Dela Vega
- Geramy Paras
Quindoza, who also led the graduating class, gave a heartfelt testimonial about his academic journey and thanked his mentors, peers, and family.
The ceremony also honored outstanding student leaders. Precious Monterozo and Jovert Quindoza, who served as President of the Environmental Science Society (EnSciSo) during AY 2023โ2024, both received Leadership Medals. Monterozo delivered an inspiring speech, urging fellow students to lead with compassion and dedication.
The atmosphere became emotional during the flower-giving segment, where graduates presented flowers to their parents to express love and appreciation.
The ceremony included two audiovisual presentations: one documenting the graduating classโs four years of studies and another dedicated to Sir Nolos, sharing messages of thanks and hopes for guidance and success.
The event signified its conclusion with a Putong/Tubong performance from BSES third-year students, and a photo opportunity for the graduating class and the faculty.๊ค
