Seeking to ignite student involvement for its upcoming activities, the College of Environmental Studies (CES) launched "PAGNINGAS 2025" yesterday, October 15, at the Marinduque State University Gymnasium.
Relevant to its namesake, "Pagningas," which translates to "to ignite," aimed to spark dialogue and active participation among the student body. The program kicked off with opening remarks from the College Dean, Dr. Evangeline B. Mandia, setting a collaborative tone for the day.
The Environmental Studies Society (EnSciSo) officers spearheaded the consultative sessions. EnSciSo President Argee Hirondo presented a comprehensive overview of the planned Students' Days 2025. This was followed by crucial discussions on the budget and financial contributions led by VP for Finance, Donna Mae Oflas, and a presentation of the calendar of activities.
A key segment of the morning was the open forum, which provided a platform for students to voice their suggestions and concerns. This, along with a dedicated session for the discussion and signing of a resolution by BSES students, underscored the event's commitment to student involvement and transparent governance.
The assembly reached its emotional climax following the closing remarks by BSES Program Head, Dr. Jason Ben R. Paragamac. In a surprise celebration of Teachers' Day, student leaders initiated a "Putong" ceremony for all the faculty members present. In this beautiful Filipino tradition of honoring esteemed individuals, students crowned their mentors with flowers and sang songs of gratitude, filling the hall with applause and heartfelt emotion.
