Honestly, this thought crosses my mind sometimes. Every time I sit in front of my laptop, learning new tools, sending applications, and trying my best…

there’s always that little voice of fear.

What if I fail?

What if no one hires me?

But then I’m reminded of this:
“Do not be afraid.”

Sometimes the journey is scary because we’re stepping into something new. But maybe that fear is also a sign that we’re growing and trusting God with our next chapter.

So today, I’ll keep learning.
I’ll keep trying.
And I’ll keep trusting.
Because someday, this “scary beginning” might turn into a beautiful testimony. ✨

If you’re also on your VA journey or starting something new in life, follow this page. Let’s grow, learn, and trust the process together. 🤎

No client yet? Use this time to build your beginner VA skills 💻✨”

No experience? No problem.
To be honest, most people who started in the VA world were self-taught too.
So while you’re still looking for your first client, here’s a basic skills checklist you can start practicing:

✅ VA Beginner Skills Checklist:
☐ Canva – basic designs (social media graphics, simple resumes)
☐ Google Docs – typing, formatting, and sharing files
☐ Gmail – writing professional emails
☐ Google Sheets – basic data entry
☐ Google Calendar – managing schedules (try plotting your own tasks first)
☐ Zoom – getting familiar with video calls/interviews
☐ File Management – organizing folders in Google Drive
☐ Communication – practice chatting in English (you can use AI or chat in groups)

Remember:
No learning ever goes to waste. Even if you’re just practicing by yourself, that’s still progress. 👩💻💪

If you set aside just 30 minutes to 1 hour a day to practice, you’re not just “doing nothing,” you’re a VA momshie in the making! 😄

What skill do you want to learn next? Drop it in the comments, maybe we can create a guide for it! 🤎

I had no experience, but here’s what I did to land a job.

Back then, I used to feel super intimidated by VA job posts.
They always said things like “must have experience,” “knowledge in tools,” or “fluent in English.”
And me? I was just a stay-at-home mom. No experience. Total beginner. 🥲

But I didn’t let that stop me.
Here are the simple steps I took to slowly get closer to my goal of landing a VA job:

✅ 5 Tips to Start Your VA Journey (Even with Zero Experience)

*Google is your bestie.
Everything I didn’t know, I searched on Google.
Even super basic questions like:
“What is a VA?” “What does a VA do?” “VA tools for beginners.”

*Join legit Facebook groups.
That’s where I learned a lot, and also where I found job opportunities.
Just be careful with posts that look suspicious or scammy.

*Create your own resume/portfolio.
Even if it’s not perfect, it’s okay.
Even if you’re self-taught, that’s valid.
Include your skills (like Canva, Google Docs, basic admin, etc.)

*Practice using free tools.
I practised using free versions of Canva, Google Workspace, and Zoom, just so I’d be familiar with them in case I got interviewed.

*Apply even if you’re not 100% qualified.
Because sometimes, clients don’t just look at experience,
they also value your attitude, communication skills, and willingness to learn. Promise.

Until now, I’m still learning.
But what matters most? I already started. 🌱

How about you, what’s one tip or lesson you learned when you were just starting out?
Or is there something you want to ask? Let’s help each other out in the comments. 🤎
