𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐒𝐂 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦-𝐭𝐨-𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Rain or shine, the SSC candidates from three different parties conducted their room-to-room campaign around TRAC campus today, August 22, in preparation for the upcoming SSC election this coming August 28.

As the election draws near, the students are excited to know more about the aspirants and the platforms they are implementing. Despite the bad weather, each team are geared up and passionately connected with the students to visualize their goal if they win the upcoming election. Demonstrating their dedication and leadership spirit for the better campus community.

The room-to-room campaign allows the candidates to showcase their leadership skills, commitment, and dedication to serve the student body. This also allows the aspirants to engage and connect with their peers as they share their goals and perspectives.

The candidates wholeheartedly invited their fellow supporters to attend and witness the grand rally on August 27. This initiative aims to introduce the SSC aspirants, inform the students about the party's mission and goal, and build connections with their fellow students by sharing their innovative vision for the campus in the future.

The campaign was successfully led by the respective Presidents of each party. These exceptional and committed individuals have showcased their hard work and dedication in leading the campus.

𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐊

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 727 by the Philippine President, Tawi-Tawi Regional Agricultural College will be observing August 21 Ninoy Aquino Day (Special Non-working Holiday), and August 25 National Heroes' Day (Regular Holiday).

There will be no classes and office operation on these dates. Normal operations are expected to resume on the following working day after each holiday.

𝐀𝐓𝐌 | 𝐒𝐒𝐂 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂

Today, August 19, marked a significant milestone for aspiring student leaders as they filed their candidacy for the Student Supreme Council (SSC) at TRAC. Three prominent parties participated in the filing: UNITY Party, led by Mr. Marzedrey R. Mani, a 4th-year Information Technology (IT) student; DITO Party, led by Mr. Mohammad Yusof Sabtula, a 4th-year Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) student; and PARTY Party, led by Mr. Akmar M. Jiripae, a 4th-year Information System (IS) student.

Earlier in the morning, the presidents and vice presidents of the three parties underwent a closed-door interview with the committee members, including Ms. Nurziana U. Hamsan, Media Adviser, and Ms. Shareen Anjali B. Warad, Media Coordinator, assisted by Ms. Sharifa Nur-Rizza J. Sahipa, Secretary of the Dean of Student Affairs.

At 2 o'clock of afternoon, the aspirants formally began submitting their requirements for filing.

The TRAC Laboratory High School celebrated Buwan ng Wika 2025 with the theme “Paglinang sa Filipino at katutubong wika: makasaysayan sa pagkakaisa ng bansa” on August 16 at the college gymnasium in Nalil, Bongao. The celebration highlighted the importance of language in fostering unity through literary, musical, and cultural presentations.

Students showcased their talents in literary, musical, and dance contests, with each performance reflecting the richness of Filipino culture and tradition. The competition stirred excitement among the audiences as participants displayed creativity, artistry, and skill.

Guest Speaker and Chairman of the Board of Judges, Ms. Jeyhada S. Tantung, emphasized the significance of the Filipino language and indigenous dialects as vital elements in promoting national solidarity and preserving cultural heritage.

The highlight of the event was the Search for Lakan at Lakambini 2025, where Mr. Monteron Ilahan and Ms. Chariz Jawadin emerged victorious, securing the esteemed titles of Lakan and Lakambini 2025.

The Buwan ng Wika celebration is an annual nationwide observance in the Philippines that promotes the appreciation and use of Filipino and indigenous languages. By continuing this tradition, TRAC-LHS provides students with meaningful opportunities to honor cultural heritage and strengthen their identity as young Filipinos.

TRAC Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) celebrated its 3rd anniversary and induction of officers at the TRAC Gymnasium on August 11, with the theme, “Honoring 3 Years of BSSW Impact and Solidarity”.

“The role is not just about camaraderie but about service and lifting the voices of those unheard and serving with positive change,” Dean of Student Affairs and Guest Speaker, Dr. Nurshima H. Juljani during her speech congratulating the newly elected officers wherein she emphasized the legacy of their leadership.

Moreover, Dean of the Institute of Social Work, Dr. Mussahara A. Allian, delivered the opening remarks, acknowledging the guest, faculty, staff and students and sharing a brief history behind the BSSW anniversary. Mr. Alnadar M. Asmadil, Department President, expressed his honor in leading the BSSW as their president and highlighted its improvements of BSSW until now. Dr. Allian, initiated the induction of officers, who pledged their responsibility and leadership.

The conclusion of the event was done by Field Instruction Coordinator, Mr. Abdulmugni D. Hairol, thanking everyone for their presence and the success of the event.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂-𝐄𝐔 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬, 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬

The Tawi-Tawi Regional Agricultural College-Employees Union (TRAC-EU) convened a meeting for both officers and members on August 8 at the TRAC Gymnasium.

The meeting, led by Union President Dr. Edwin M. Puhagan, featured a PowerPoint presentation on the introduction to unions, their roles, and relevant laws. The meeting addressed various issues and concerns, including the union's financial status. Ms. Nursida Muarip and Ms. Arlene N. Sevilla provided a short briefing on the financial status for the years 2022-2023 and 2023-2025, respectively. Dr. Puhagan also discussed the tenure of the union president and encouraged the next potential successors. He also mentioned the delay of the release of loans and whereabouts of the Union Money and Mr. Bennazer S. Abdulmajid, TRAC remitting officer, addressed the delay in loan releases, citing low monthly budgets.

Dr. Puhagan and other union officers responded to the attendees' concerns, aiming to resolve issues, particularly regarding the union's financial status. The meeting aimed to address TRAC-EU's issues and concerns, focusing on financial transparency and accountability.
