The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education – Technical Education and Skills Development (MBHTE-TESD) proudly announces that 𝐉𝐢𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐁. 𝐋𝐚𝐣𝐚 will represent the Philippines in the upcoming WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025, set on August 26–28, 2025, at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The WorldSkills ASEAN Competition is the region’s premier showcase of skills, bringing together the most talented youth from Southeast Asia to demonstrate excellence in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). Participants from ASEAN member-states will compete in different skill areas, underscoring the vital role of TVET in national development and regional collaboration.

This year marks a historic milestone for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). For the first time, a Bangsamoro youth will represent the Philippines in this prestigious competition. Jiear B. Laja, who will compete in Information Network Cabling alongside another Filipino contender, carries not only his talent and dedication but also the pride and hopes of the Bangsamoro people.

Notably, Jiear already made history in 2024 as the first Bangsamoro to win in the Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC), where he earned a bronze medal in the same skill category. His achievement paved the way for this new milestone, as he now steps onto the ASEAN stage among the 62 competitors representing the Philippines across 32 skill areas, joining participants from 11 ASEAN member states.

MBHTE-TESD recognizes this achievement as a strong testament to the region’s growing contribution to the country’s skilled workforce. “This is a proud moment for BARMM. Jiear’s participation shows that Bangsamoro youth have the skills, determination, and excellence to stand among the best in ASEAN,” MBHTE-TESD officials said. His representation reflects BARMM’s commitment to nurturing world-class professionals through quality technical-vocational education.

Laja’s participation in WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 also highlights the importance of investing in the potential of young people and creating more opportunities for skills development in BARMM. His journey as the region’s first representative in an international skills competition is a milestone that demonstrates both personal commitment and the steady progress of the Bangsamoro in the field of TVET.

With deep pride, MBHTE-TESD extends its full support to Jiear B. Laja as he carries not only the Philippine flag, but also the aspirations of the Bangsamoro, onto the international
stage of technical vocational excellence.

The First Aid Training for the Senior High School student officers of Mahardika Institute of Technology, Inc. has officially concluded!

This training equipped our students with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively during emergencies — from basic first aid procedures to proper disaster preparedness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Bongao Municipal Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction Management Office for their time, expertise, and dedication in guiding our students throughout the session. Your commitment to promoting safety and preparedness in the community is truly inspiring.

We’ve successfully concluded a week filled with learning, connection, and spirited camaraderie! Here’s a look back at each day:

📅 June 23 – Opening Ceremony
We kicked off with energy and excitement as our students gathered for the Opening Ceremony. They were welcomed with presentations about our School’s PVMGO (Philosophy, Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives), Policies, and Activities, ensuring everyone knows what it means to belong to our vibrant community.

The first day was proudly attended by our School President, the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), other school officials, and the SHS Management Council headed by our SHS Coordinator/Principal and the Strand Coordinators, all of whom showed their support and commitment to our students’ journey.

A heartfelt highlight was the inspiring message from our School President, Sheikh Abumarwan I. Hassan, who shared words of wisdom, motivation, and encouragement. He reminded our students: “Kamu in palitaan sin kawmaan ha susungun,” emphasizing that they are the light of the future.

Our four Houses—Clubs, Spades, Diamonds, and Hearts—brought color and cheer, showing their enthusiasm and school spirit right from Day 1!

📅 June 24-26 – Curriculum Deep Dive
Over the next three days, students dove deep into learning about the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum through detailed briefings that helped them understand their academic paths and the opportunities ahead.

In addition, they participated in engaging Student Activities like Mentorship and Guidance Sessions, where alumni and invited experts shared practical SHS Survival Tips, personal stories, and advice on thriving both academically and personally.

The Houses continued to shine as students actively participated, collaborated, and built new friendships within their groups—truly starting their journey as warriors and future leaders.

📅 June 27 – Parents’ Orientation
To close the week, we welcomed our dear parents for an informative and engaging orientation. Once again, Sheikh Abumarwan I. Hassan offered his guidance and wisdom, emphasizing the essential role of partnership between home and school in ensuring our students’ success. Parents learned about school programs, policies, and ways they can support their children’s journey.

Throughout the week, the spirit of Borderland Beginnings was alive and vibrant, reminding us all that together, we rise as warriors and thrive as leaders.

Thank you to everyone—students, parents, teachers, alumni, and especially our School President—for making this week unforgettable. Let’s carry this momentum forward as we embark on an exciting school year ahead!
