𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺!

These wins are twofold for ESSU as it's not only the 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 for the university, but the whopping 67/67 first-time takers and passers places the university among the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 among schools with 50 to 99 examinees.

This is a consecutive testament to the unwavering quality of education that Eastern Samar State University and the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences has to offer.

With the consistent efforts of sir Ray Dominic R. Ladera from the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences, the university drafted its extension partnership with the Office of the City Population Development - Borongan, and Oikos Ptochos Tou Theo Poor Household of God Mission at the SMART TRDI Center of the main campus this February 20, 2025.

The consultation was accomplished with the presence of Mark Lucio S. Contado Jr. from the Office of City Population Development, Danica Ghean Paligutan from Oikos, along with faculty members and Level 3 and 4 nursing students from the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences, and discussions similar to the previous consultation with the San Julian Pride Advocacy Group were presented.

The 𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 by the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences aims to serve the community in Borongan City and Eastern Samar as a whole through its various programs, which is aligned with the goals of the Office of the City Population Development - Borongan, and Oikos Ptochos Tou Theo Poor Household of God Mission.

This initiative was established by its project leader, Sir Ray Dominic R. Ladera, along with its co-proponents, Ma'am Ma. Natividad B. Baldono, Ma'am Ammy Evilynda C. Cesista, Ma'am Ruth C. Aserios, and Sir Robby B. Ylanan. Such partnerships is a collective effort that further enhances the quality of life for Estehanons.

This will be concluded by a proposed signing of an updated Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the potential research and extension partners and the university.

𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗢𝗔 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗜𝗻𝗰. 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽

Headed by sir Ray Dominic R. Ladera from the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences, the university revisited its extension partnership with the San Julian Pride Advocacy Group at the SMART TRDI Center of the main campus last February 7, 2025.

With the presence of the advocacy group's founder, Roel A. Andag, along with other prominent members of the group, faculty members and Level 3 and 4 nursing students from the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences, and a representative from the Research Development and Extension, initiatives were discussed on how to further enhance the partnership between the advocacy group and the university.

One of the main initiatives from the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences is the ATAMAN Project, which aims to provide holistic care towards indiciduals, families, and communities through a Nursing Care Process (NCP) approach.

With their expertise in gender equality and mental health, the partnership with San Julian Pride is a key initiative for the success and advancement of the ATAMAN Project as one of its main components is Comprehensive Sexuality and Reproductive Health (CSRH), and Mental Health (matahom).

This consultation will be followed by a proposed signing of an updated Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the advocacy group and the university.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗦 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿

Level 3 BSN and BSND students of the College of Nursing and Allied Sciences, spearheaded by Nursing Research instructor Reyna Glorian H. Capada, RN, MAN, conducted a seminar on ethical research last January 23, 2025 at the 2nd floor ESSU Main Library.

This kind of initiative aims to guide the students in conducting an ethically sound data collection phase for their research study. Key speakers included Dr. Delbert A. Dala of the University Ethics Review Committee and the college's own faculty member Ray Dominic R. Ladera, RN, MAN. Topics covered the importance of ethical guidelines, university ethics approval processes, and ethical practices in data collection.

Topnotcher Gladys William Baleña along with Louiecel Bacolongan, Kristine Joy Coneras, and Ira Jamer, all respresent our college at the recently held Oathtaking Ceremony for the New Nurses by the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing at the Plenary Hall, Philippine International Convention Center, last December 16, 2024.

As a rite of passage, this ceremony formally introduces new nurses into the profession after earning their licenses. It reaffirms the values, dedication, and essence of what it takes to be a nurse.

𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗔 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨 - 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗦 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗣𝗡𝗟𝗘!

The college is truly a gem to behold as its 𝟯𝟲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀—and a 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿—aces the boards in the recent November 2024 PNLE.

With her determination, mastery, and her peers' hopes and prayers, 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗱𝘆𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗲ñ𝗮 places among the ranks in the November 2024 PNLE top 10 passers at rank 10.

Her feat is a resounding first in the college's history, making her name and achievement one to be remembered for years to come.

The college truly continues to set a standard of excellence with this achievement and its sixth consecutive 100% passing rate for the quality nurses that it produces.

𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 5, 2024 — highlighted the day of an annual ceremony that upholds the esteemed dignity of students from the Nursing Class of 2027 and Nutrition and Dietetics Class of 2026. Held at Eastern Samar State University - Main, Teatro Ibabawnon, inaugurated with the Theme: ESSU Nurses and Nutritionists-Dietitians sustaining compassion and care amidst global health care challenges.

The program began with a Eucharistic Celebration led by Rev. Fr. Christian Ofilan, followed by the presentation of Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics candidates by their respective program heads. Afterwards, the commencement rites was delivered by the Dean of College Of Nursing and Allied Sciences— Mark Bency M. Elpedes MAN, RN, RM.

Dr Andres C. Pagatpatan— University President of ESSU, delivered an empowering message to student nurses and nutritionists. Parents and guardians were present to witness the University President’s heartfelt message, inspiring their proud sons and daughters participating in the Capping and Pinning ceremony.

As each student steps forward with pride at the call of their name, the nursing cap and gold-plated pin and nutritionists-dietitian's white coat stand as shining symbols of their heartfelt dedication and tireless efforts toward this milestone. Enkindling their candle lights with the grace of Florence Nightingale— a symbolic tradition that marks the beginning of a healthcare student’s journey. As the darkened room slowly filled with warmth, the candle-lighting ceremony becomes a moment of profound reflection. Each candle, gently glowing in students’ hands, represents the light they will carry into the world. This ceremony is not merely a celebration, but a cherished landmark on their noble journey to becoming respected frontiers in healthcare.

Congratulations, Batch Berzelianite and Batch Prunus Armeniaca, may your pledges of honor remind you that you’re not studying or training yourselves for an evaluation, but an act of work to save a life, lives, a generation. 🤍👏
