𝗞𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗔 𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗞𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗔, 𝗜𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗗𝗜𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗔 𝗦𝗠𝗖𝗕

Matagumpay na isinara ng St. Mary’s College of Borongan, Inc. ang pagdiriwang ng 𝘽𝙪𝙬𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙞𝙠𝙖 𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙉 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 2026, tampok ang makukulay na pagtatanghal na nagbigay-diin sa yaman ng kulturang Pilipino at sa pagkakaisa ng mga bansa sa Timog-Silangang Asya. Sa pamamagitan ng wika, musika, sayaw, at iba’t ibang anyo ng pagpapahayag, naging makabuluhan ang pagdiriwang ng kultura at pagkakaiba-iba.

Naging tampok ang Tradisyonal na Sayaw, kung saan ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral ang makulay na tradisyon at kulturang Pilipino. Sinundan ito ng Creative Dance & Music Competition at Sabayang Awit, na nagbigay ng entablado sa bawat departamento upang ipakita ang kanilang talento at pagkamalikhain sa musika. Tampok din ang ASEAN-inspired cultural booths, kung saan naipakita ang iba’t ibang kultura, tradisyon, at pagkakakilanlan ng mga bansa sa ASEAN sa malikhaing paraan. Sinundan ng Laro ng Lahi, pagtanghal ng mga parangal sa nanalo, at nagtapos sa boodle fight ng ibat ibang departamento.

Sa pagtatapos ng selebrasyon, napatunayan na ang kultura ay hindi lamang pagkakakilanlan, kundi tulay rin tungo sa pagkakaunawaan at pagkakaisa mula Pilipinas hanggang ASEAN.

The spirit of ASEAN came alive today at St. Mary’s College of Borongan, Inc. (SMCB) school grounds as the ASEAN Week Celebration 2026 officially unfolded under the theme, “Navigating Our Future Together.”

The celebration featured a vibrant showcase of culinary creations by the Hospitality Management (HM) Department, highlighting traditional food from ASEAN and other selected countries. The activity gave students a flavorful glimpse into the rich and diverse cuisines of the region. The event continued with the Parade of ASEAN Nations, where students proudly represented the different member states through their national flags, traditional attire, and cultural expressions.

More than a celebration of culture, the event became a meaningful expression of unity and diversity. Through food, music, flags, and traditional clothing, Marian students embraced the richness of ASEAN while embodying its core values of unity, peace, youth empowerment, and cooperation.

Kasabay ng temang “𝙒𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝙄: 𝙆𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙨𝙞𝙠 𝙖𝙩 𝙏𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙖 𝙔𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣.” Inilunsad ng St. Mary’s College of Borongan ang Buwan ng Wika ngayong ika-pitong araw ng Agusto. Dito nagkaroon ng iba’t-ibang sayawin bilang pampasigla sa kaganapan at pinagbigay-alam ang mga gaganapin na patimpalak sa buong buwan na pagdiriwang.

Layunin nitong ipaalala at itatak sa puso’t isipan ng mga estudyante ang pagmamahal sa pambansang wika at gayundin sa iba’t-ibang diyalekto na humubog sa pagkakakilanlan ng isang tunay na mamamayang Pilipino. Kung saan, ang Artifical Intelligence o AI ay maaaring gamitin upang mapalalim nila ang kanilang pag-unawa sa lengguwaheng Filipino na kanilang kinagisnan.

𝗦𝗘𝗖-𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗮: 𝗔𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿

July 22, 2026 - St. Mary's College of Borongan, Inc., through its partnership with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), successfully conducted a seminar today at the SMCB Marian Hotel Function Hall. The seminar gathered Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students to strengthen their financial literacy and investment awareness.

The seminar was led by Atty. Desiree P. Cuenco, Regional Director of the SEC Tacloban Extension Office, together with Ms. Mabel E. Balanza, Securities Specialist; Mr. Arnel John O. Nofies, Senior Administrative Officer; Ms. Jemimah Candove, Information Officer; and Mr. Joamir A. Perpiñan, Administrative Assistant l. The resource speakers discussed the SEC's mandate and role in protecting investors, the fundamentals of personal finance management, and practical ways to identify, avoid, and report investment scams.

An open forum followed, allowing students to raise questions and gain practical insights on responsible financial decision-making. The activity concluded with closing remarks and a photo opportunity, reaffirming SMCB's commitment to equipping its students with essential financial knowledge and promoting a culture of informed investing and consumer protection.

𝗦𝗠𝗖𝗕 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆

As part of the school’s opening of a new academic year, St. Mary’s College of Borongan holds its annual acquaintance party tonight, July 10, at the Mother Ignacia Auditorium, with the Met Gala theme, encouraging all college Ignacian-Marians to wear black and red clothes for the occasion.

The party was also graced by members of the College Faculty of the institution, led by Sister Marylou R. Dacillo, RVM, the Dean of College, and Mr. Leonard Monteza, LPT, Dean of Student Affairs, along with various members of the administration of the school.

The party was kicked off through a celebration of the Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Reverend Father Romel C. Arce, Program Adviser of the AB-Philosophy Department, and Dean of Studies at the Nativity of Our Lady College Seminary.

Various officers of the school and its departments also took their oaths of offices in the presence of Mr. Monteza, student affairs head, and Sr. Dacillo, the dean, and the entire SMCB community.

After the programs, games and dances were also held, igniting friendly competition and camaraderie among students of different courses and departments.

The acquaintance party is a yearly gathering aimed at strengthening bonds among all Ignacian-Marians, crossing over various programs and courses, forming good relations between students and faculty alike.

𝗦𝗠𝗖𝗕 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

St. Mary’s College of Borongan, Inc. celebrated the annual Holy Spirit Mass at the SMCB Auditorium this day, July 3.

Rev. Fr. Romel C. Arce presided over the mass with the attendance of the high school and college departments alongside the faculty, academic non-teaching staff and personnel of the institution.

The main purpose of the celebration was to pray for the grace of the Holy Spirit to guide the Ignacian Marians as they commence the School Year 2026-2027.

In his homily, Fr. Arce emphasized the need for the Holy Spirit to guide and take control of their daily lives, instead of following societal trends and the desires of the majority.

With this, the school is hoping and anticipating for a fruitful and meaningful school year, guided by God’s wisdom in the attainment of the core values of faith, excellence and service.

𝗦𝗠𝗖𝗕 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗦𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳

June 19, 2026 - St. Mary’s College of Borongan officially started the new school year for the College Department through a General Orientation and Departmental Election which was held at the Mother Ignacia Auditorium.

The event was participated by students of the different departments and courses of the institution, using different coloured balloons to distinguish the various students, Hospitality Management to Philosophy.

Also present were Sister Marylou R. Dacillo, RVM, the Dean of College, and Mr. Leonard Monteza, LPT, the Dean of Student Affairs, they also introduced various members of the school administration and faculty, both old and new instructors and professors.

In the first talk of the program, Mr. Monteza laid out the disciplinary guidelines and system of the institution, from decorum to proper actions by every Ignacian Marian, also, Mr. Jose Maria Adriano Colico held the second talk and discussion which tackled the school’s mission and vision.
