We took a quick trip to Kalinto Resort - Botolan, Zambalesâhoping to de-stress.
But the truth is, you can never really do that when youâre parenting two kids with autism.
We booked a Sunday, knowing fewer people usually come.
We carefully chose a place we thought would be quiet, familiar, and safe.
We planned everything⌠and still, it was the same.
We barely slept.
Zick cried through the night, wanting to go back to the poolâeven when it was already closed.
We knew his cries echoed down the hall, and that constant worry of disturbing others while trying to regulate your child is a weight only special-needs parents truly understand.
Meltdowns. Sensory overload. Constant vigilance.
By the end of the day, we were exhausted in ways sleep canât fix.
And to the staffâthank you, truly.
Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your understanding, especially toward Kuya Zack and Zick.
Zack has been showing challenging behaviors since the day we arrived, and Zick was struggling hard that nightâbut you never made us feel judged or unwelcome.
You met us with calm, grace, and compassionâand that meant more than youâll ever know.
Stillâwe showed up.
Stillâwe made memories.
They may not remember this trip.
They may not remember the effort, the planning, the patience it took.
But we will.
And someday, that will be enough. đ¤
