Life is a walk to remember.
Our tomorrows are determined by the steps we take each day.
Every sunset gives us one day less to live but every sunrise gives us one more day to hope. So savor every step and live it well because God walks with us every step of the way.

City officials recently congratulated and commended Islay Erika Bomogao for being the first Filipino female Muay Thai world champion.

In a resolution, local legislators stated that Bomogao’s recent outstanding achievement in combative sports brought pride and honor to the city and of the entire Cordillera region and the whole country.

Bomogao reportedly made history by becoming the first Filipina Muay Thai world champion at the 2023 International Federation of Muay Thai Association (IFMA) senior world championship held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Islay’s remarkable skills and unwavering determination has been an inspiration to all the young women who are aspiring to become champions in the world of combative sports.

The council stipulated that Bomogao has truly set the standards high for female athletes everywhere, showing that with hard work, perseverance, and faith in God above anything is possible.

She has been a consistent performer in various local, national, regional and international competitions over the past several years that sustained her efforts to bring honor and pride to the city.

Copies of the approved resolution will be furnished Bomogao for her information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See

A Dangwa Tranco Bus stops over in Natubleng, Buguias in 1977
(Altered)

As a kid, in my few trips to Baguio and back, I always looked forward to a bottle of soda (Koks, Orange or Lem-o-Lime ) and egg pie or fruit pie at the bus stopover. The bus stopover alternated between Sayangan and Natubleng. I guess it depends on what each restaurant can offer the bus drivers and conductors e.g. quality and quantity of food.
