History of TAU SIGMA PHI
Also known as TRIUMVIRATE

Tau Sigma Phi was founded on a cold Monday night on October 10, 1960 at Philippine Maritime Institute Colleges. Roosevelt, Avenue Quezon City by three young Engineers (Professors) first known as “TRIUMVIRATE” which means Three powerful individual (three power in one) known as TRIUMVIRII. A sailors collegiate organization and renamed as Triumvirate Supreme fraternity in 1968 and soon adopted a three greek-letter name TAU SIGMA PHI in 1975. With the visions to better the world through better man. Binds by its principles; To Better the Man through the creation and perpetuation of brotherhood/sisterhood founded upon the values of character: Silence, Charity, loyalty, leadership, Honor, and Patriotism.in 1980 the first chapter was founded in iriga city and spread-out through neighboring town (universities and colleges) with its purpose to organize its membership in such a manner as to promote community and campus service, to provide the means for greater academic achievement, and to create a more productive individual in society, as well as to become a chapter of quality in Tau Sigma Phi Fraternity/sorority through the cultivation of life long spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood.
