Subject: Temporary Suspension of LGU-Buhi Residual Waste Collection

Dear PB ________,

In view of the temporary closure and ongoing rehabilitation of the Municipal Temporary Residual Containment Area (MTRCA), located at EcoPark, Zone 6, Barangay Salvacion, Buhi, Camarines Sur, please be informed that the collection of residual waste by the Local Government Unit of Buhi shall be temporarily suspended effective October 20, 2025.

This temporary suspension is being implemented to ensure compliance with environmental standards and the directives of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) pursuant to Republic Act No. 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

For reference, Section 3 (Collection and Transfer) of RA 9003 IRR provides that:

“The barangay shall be responsible for ensuring that 100% collection efficiency from residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sources, where necessary within its area of coverage, is achieved.”

In line with this provision, all barangays are enjoined to strengthen their respective solid waste management systems and to ensure the establishment and operation of Barangay Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) to properly manage residual wastes during the suspension period.

Your usual cooperation and support in the proper implementation of our local solid waste management program are earnestly requested.

𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 I

A power interruption affected areas under Feeder 1, from Sto. Domingo, Iriga going to the entire municipality of Buhi. CASURECO III linemen are conducting ongoing trace-up and clearing of lines.

The outage was reported earlier, and technical teams were immediately deployed to identify the cause and restore electricity at the soonest possible time. According to initial assessments, vegetation and obstructions along distribution lines are being addressed to ensure the safety and reliability of power flow.

Further updates will be released once power is fully restored.
