I’ll never forget the first person who said YES to me.
My very first Pinterest client, 6 years ago, took a chance on someone with no formal training, just Google, YouTube, and a big dream.
All I had was a little knowledge about Pinterest and a whole lot of belief in myself. And she believed in me, too.
We had a discovery call, she spoke so fast I could barely keep up with her (may konting French accent). I jotted down everything she said just to make sure I didn’t miss a detail. (That’s when I realized I much prefer messages over calls! 😅)
But here’s the twist…
She hired me… and then disappeared. She told me she was visiting family in Paris, but as the days passed...no updates, no emails… nothing.
I thought, “Oh no, not another scam. Another dead end.” (Ni ha ni ho wala...umaasa na lang ako sa wala...ginhost na yata ako!)
And I said, “Okay, NEXT!”
So I applied for a local agency job as a Social Media Manager. I went through a grueling process (as in ang haba ng process, ilang araw bago natapos yung application), made it to the final 2 out of 30 applicants… only to find out the offer was way below what I hoped for. 😔
Then...just when I least expected it...I got an email from her:
“I’m back in the U.S. and ready to get started.”
Hala sya!!! I was in shock. I cried. 😭 (Di ko na sya inasahan, nagNEXT na nga ako eh)
That one YES turned out to be real. She guided me from start to finish...how to design pins, write descriptions, and build a Pinterest strategy. She believed in what I could do, even before I fully believed in myself. (Sabi nya may baby na rin sya kagaya ko and she can relate.)
And that first YES changed everything.
It shaped the person I am today.
It started my Pinterest journey.
It built my confidence.
It changed my LIFE!
To anyone still waiting for their first YES---keep going. (Go lang ng go). You never know how close you are to the moment that will change your life.
