MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Holy Week 2026 itself was a mission that I was able to accomplish with flying colors together with my friends and co-servants, Madi Carmel and Kc. After three consecutive years of not being able to serve during Lent, by chance, and roughly three years of being a regular Sunday worshipper away from my beloved ministry, I am finally redeemed.
The nine-day experience of meeting a new family, new community, and a new environment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Paraiso, Milagros, Masbate was something that I did not specifically pray. I just prayed to God by the beginning of 2026 to allow me to serve for this year’s Holy Week celebration because I’ve been longing to serve Him and His people in the way that I used to do. But, He had a greater plan. Rev. Fr. Michael Y. Lobitaña unexpectedly asked our availability to help him in his parish as they prepare for the Lenten activities and celebrations especially with the songs. Something that we never expected. Yet, something that we didn’t want refuse despite schedule conflicts. God just cleared our way and sent us there.
On behalf of the little team from HSP, I want to thank you, Fr. Mike, for reaching out to us, for still trusting us and for still being proud of us. We missed your company. It was an honor to serve with you and to listen to your eye-opening homilies and wisdom AGAIN. Thank you for taking care of us and looking after us. We are so glad that being away from our family and our parish became so worth it. Thank you for formally introducing us and letting us feel credited for the works that we’ve done in front of your growing parish community. It was so flattering. Nauwaw nami hahaha. Thank you for that validation for the accomplished mission though far from perfection.
Aside from that, we were so happy to see that you are loved and treated by the people there so well which we really prayed for.
We’re just here to support you, Fr. Mike. Way to go!
To the youth especially to the choir ministry, Ate Carmel, Ate Kc and Kua Melven/Doy are so proud of you. We saw too much potential in all of you. Just let the fire ignite and never let it die. The talents were already there. Just commit to serve God and everything will follow. We hope that somehow we became a good influence to all of you even in a short period of time. Please be present always in all ways possible. In God’s perfect timing, we’ll meet again. And by that time, hopefully, you’re still intact and still in service to God and His people. Hoping to see new faces serving with you all.
To Brother Rhomel, malakas ka nga kay Lord kaya di kami nakauwi agad haha. It was so nice and inspiring to meet you. Sorry sa mga pasuyo na di nagagawa hehe. Update nyo po kami pag may assignment kana, pra dun naman kami makikape at makikain haha. God bless po sa priesthood journey niyo. Mama Mary loves you!
To the rest of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish community, thank you for being there and for supporting our beloved Fr. Mike in his endeavors for the parish and for all of you. Thank you for loving and treating him so well. We are so happy and inspired to see you all united for God’s glory. Salamat sa mga pagkaon na manamit kag sa pag trato sa amon san maayo-ayo gayod. To Madi Car Mel and Kc thank you for being with me. Di na tani ko ganahan kaso wa koy choice char haha. Wa jud koy kaisog bya moadtu kung wala mo. So proud of you for choosing to be absent in other obligations just to be present in our mission. To more missions for God. And, to more kanding and manok sessions with you hahaha.
To Kua Vince and Ate Nelma sorry for our absence, pero salamat sa pagsabot and support. Ate Dara salamat sa pag apas hahah. Sa moang mga ginikanan nga sige nag pangita namo, sorry kaayo. Saon man, gihulman paman mis toang amahan haha. Nagbinuotan mn mi didto mga mamshies namin hehe.
Finally, Lord, thank you for answering my prayers in even greater ways. Sometimes I just can’t help but ask what I have done to deserve all these — your so much love and providence. Sobra-sobra na naman ang blessings. Salamat sa talents and guidance. To more missions in the future and more lives to touch through the gifts and treasures you gave us.
