Bridging the Gap
The enemy would like nothing better than to drive a wedge between family members. He knows which buttons to push that will cause you to lose patience, become irritated, give a snide remark, or lose your temper. Whenever you start acting in a non-Christian way, the devil wins! Families are especially vulnerable because they are the ones you expect to lift you up and be there for you ... no matter what. But when you let go of Godโs hand for even a moment, Satan is quick to rush in and create confusion, doubt, distrust, or jealousy, and that is when youโll fall. Hard feelings have a way of creating walls that soon seem too high to climb. Many times, family feuds have gone on for years where neither side can remember what started the fight in the first place, yet they hold on to all that anger! The only way to find your way back to each other is to allow God to โbridge the gap.โ He alone can heal hearts and melt away the anger. Determine today to love as God loves and rid your heart of all jealousy and foolish pride. Whatever is standing in the way of family unity, open the door with the key of forgiveness. Thereโs nothing that is worth missing out on eternity with Jesus. Allow God to be first in your life and to โloveโ as โHe loves,โ starting in your own home!
