Mariel announced her stomach was speaking for itself so we stopped at the nearest street stall in Butuan. She held up that plate of noodles like she won a trophy and honestly she kind of did.

Market lights, plastic stools, local food that cost almost nothing. She was absolutely glowing.

Nobody warns you about this part. How a random Tuesday night at a street stall ends up being one of your favorite memories. Butuan does not get enough credit.

Sometimes love looks like a quick smile before we walk into the big event.

My wife Mariel just made my heart feel so full again. She is the best thing that ever happened to me here in Butuan.

We don't need perfect plans, just each other to share the moment.

the little things she does that make me fall in love all over again

We flew to Sylt, Germany to celebrate my mom's birthday and somehow ended up on a North Sea beach in the middle of winter, completely freezing and absolutely losing it laughing.

Mariel gave me that look the moment I started shivering. That sweet, patient smile that says she already knew before I did.

Big grins, red cheeks, wind destroying her hair. We looked ridiculous and we knew it. Honestly one of my favorite moments from the whole trip.

There is something about traveling with the right person that turns even the uncomfortable parts into memories you want to keep forever.

We were hiking somewhere in the mountains. Hot. Sweaty.

Then we got to the waterfall.

She grabbed my face and kissed me right there. No warning. Just like that.

I could hear the water crashing behind us. I could feel her smiling into the kiss. And I thought this is it. This is the life I left everything for.

People ask me all the time. "Do you miss Europe? Do you regret it?"

Miss what? Cold weather? Traffic?

I have this woman. I have waterfalls on random Tuesdays. I have a life that feels like a movie but it's just... our normal.

Salamat, mahal. For every kiss. For every adventure. For choosing me.
