𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐃𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐒𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍, 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐒𝐀 𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐍

Mayo 7, 2025 - Nagkaisa ang Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) at ang mga mag-aaral sa ikasampung baitang sa isang proyektong pagtulong sa mga kabataan sa Brgy. Zone 2, Purok Barilea.

Sinimulan ito sa pagkanta ng Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas, sinundan ito ng panalangin, at pag-awit ng Himno ng Cadiz.

Nagbigay ng pambungad na pananalita si Ms. Jona D. Gabayeron. Tagapayo ng SSLG. Ipinakita ni Eliana Ruth O. Monana at Niel Arcillas ang kahalagahan ng pag-aalaga sa kalikasan sa pamamagitan ng pagsalaysay ng maikling kwento.

Maya-maya, tinuruan ng mga mag-aaral sa ikasampung baitang ang mga bata tungkol sa mga dapat gawin bago, habang, at pagkatapos ng mga sakuna.

Nagkaisa at nagsaya ang lahat sa larong "Eco Bingo" na inihanda ng mga opisyales ng SSLG.

Ang mga mag-aaral sa ikasampung baitang ay nagtanghal sa pamamagitan ng isang dulang pantanghalan na kung saan sila'y kumanta at umarte na nagpakita ng responsibilidad natin sa ating mga basura at kapaligiran.

Nagkaroon ng salo-salo na inihanda ng mga opisyales ng SSLG para sa kanila. Pagkatapos, ibinahagi nina Eliana Ruth O. Monana at Niño Johrem Dormido ang kanilang adbokasiya tungkol sa ating inang kalikasan.

Pinangunahan naman ni Wesley A. Tangao ang Environmental Pledge na kung saan nangako ang lahat ng dumalo na magiging responsable sila sa kanilang mga basura at sa kanilang paligid.

Natapos ang programa sa pagbigay ng mga sertipiko ng partisipasyon at mga school supplies sa mga bata. Ang kaganapang ito ay hindi lang nagbigay ng pagkakataon sa mga kabataan na matulungan, nagbigay din ito ng leksyon at mga alaalang hindi malilimutan sa mga opisyales ng SSLG at sa mga mag-aaral sa ikasampung baitang.

March 28, 2025 — PNUV Drillon Covered Court.

On Friday afternoon, PNU students gathered to celebrate National Women's Month with a vibrant and meaningful program honoring the contributions of women throughout history. Organized by the PNUV Kabataang Urduja, the event began at 1:30 PM and concluded at 2:58 PM — featuring a series of performances, character portrayals, and acts of unity.

The event kicked off with the entrance of colors, followed by a solemn prayer and the singing of the Cadiz City hymn, setting a reflective tone for the afternoon.

Grade 6 students took the stage first with an energetic dance performance, which was followed by a captivating character portrayal segment. During this part of the program, students from various grade levels took on the roles of influential Filipino women who have made significant contributions to the country’s history.

A grade 7 student, Xylein Kia Forquiado portrayed Josefa Llanes Escoda — a key figure in the women’s suffrage movement and a national hero. Grade 8 students' Ryelin Casimar Obani and Patricia Santolices portrayed Agueda Kahabagan, a revolutionary leader, and Leni Robredo, the former vice president known for her advocacy for women’s rights and social change.

The audience was then treated to an intermission performance by Ran Dominique Herrera, before Grade 9's Suzzane Bless Camangyan portrayed Maria Ressa — a journalist and advocate for press freedom. Finally, Grade 10’s Eliana Monana portrayed Josefa Llanes Escoda in a powerful and emotional performance.

Following the character portrayals, a Grade 7 presentation was performed, followed by an advocacy video that highlighted important issues facing women today.

The highlight of the afternoon was the awarding ceremony for the character portrayal competition: Eliana Monana took first place, followed by Ryelin Casimar Obani in second, and Suzzane Bless Camangyan in third.

The celebration ended with a spirited unity dance — a powerful symbol of collective strength and solidarity in the ongoing fight for gender equality.

The event, organized by PNUV Kabataang Urduja, successfully showcased the importance of honoring women’s contributions and reinforced the school’s commitment to empowering students with a deeper understanding of women’s rights and equality.

The Flame Publication proudly took part in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2025 on March 13-14, showcasing their talents and skills in journalism.

With passion and determination, we secured multiple awards, bringing pride to our school. Those who placed in the top three will move forward to the Regional Schools Press Conference to continue their journey.

𝐏𝐍𝐔-𝐕 𝐂𝐓𝐋 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲

The Philippine Normal University Visayas Center for Teaching and Learning (PNUV-CTL) celebrated Family Day on February 15, 2025, with the theme: “Family’s Love is Life’s Greatest Blessing and Strength.” The event was held at the Drilon Covered Court, starting at 7:30 A.M. and concluding at 4:40 P.M.

The master of ceremonies was Welcir S. Oliveros Jr. The program began with a caravan, followed by a Mass. Dr. Gliceria Arlyn G. Garancho, Dean for Academics and the Hub, then delivered the opening remarks, followed by a message from the Executive Director and Provost, Dr. Ralger D. Jocson Jr. Afterward, the judges for the competitions, Dr. Richelle A. Delmo, Manny Bantillo, and Noriel Dorliac, were introduced.

The event featured various activities, including parlor games and door prizes. One of the highlights of the celebration was the dance competition, where students from different grade levels, along with their parents, showcased their talents and strengthened their bond. The competition was divided into two categories: elementary and high school.

After the dance competition, a raffle draw took place, giving lucky pupils a chance to win prizes. Following the raffle, parlor games commenced. Dr. Emilyn T. Batulat then delivered a talk on gender equity, emphasizing the importance of equal opportunities for everyone. After the discussion, more games followed.

A second raffle draw was held before the awarding ceremony, where the winners were announced. The results were as follows:

Elementary (Kindergarten to Grade 3):

2nd place - Grade 2
3rd place - Grade 1
4th place - Kindergarten

Elementary (Grade 4 to Grade 6):

My family isn't like the typical one, you see in shows or movies. It is odd and rather out of place. Somehow, it still remained warm in some parts of it. Even if most are cold and dimmed.

Yes, my family is odd but I cannot hate every single part of it. There's still laughter in a silent room between two people. I find it rather amusing, how once love is now hated. Oh, how the apple can still rot from the tree.

Very odd and I have to accept it. There's still warmth and joy around it. Families are very diverse, yes, it is. I'll accept my family as I'm grateful to see such a world.

Oddity, how I find it amusing. How much I see my family's worth and acceptance of it. Learning to accept it is something I've accomplished. I love my family's warmth and cold demeanor. I like being odd and I love my family.

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐔𝐩𝐬 & 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬

The day we've been celebrating is the day of love, "Valentine's Day". Every February 14th, it's the day we've all been waiting for, or dreading. "Love is in the air!" they say, but not without its strings. Valentine's Day is all about celebrating love, but what is love? It's a question so simple, yet when you try to find the right answer, it suddenly feels so complex.

Is it about the feeling for a special someone—the way we look at them, admire them, care for them, and the connection we have? Is that the meaning of love? Well yes, those and many more.

Love is the feeling for that special someone we have in our lives, though remember it doesn't need to be a romantic "someone"; it can also be our family, friends, teachers, and others. The special someone that we love is those who we truly care about, whether it's romantically or platonically. Chocolate's here, flowers are there, love is everywhere! Is love just about the chocolates and flowers we give? While gifting is one of the ways to express our love, it isn't the only way.

We have our own different kinds of languages when it comes to love; some show it by giving you words of affirmation, doing acts of service, spending time with you, and some even shower you with gifts. Some even have unique ways to show their love.

There are so many ways to express it, and there are ways to express love with yourself too, like treating yourself with food or a massage; self-love is also very important. Love is beautiful, but it isn't all sweet, though. As the saying goes, "Where there is love, there is pain." There is no perfect relationship or perfect person without having its mistakes. Mistakes are the lessons we use to learn, grow, and do better.

Life is painful at times, but don't let that stop you from realizing how beautiful it also is. Pursuing the love for our hobbies, dreams, or even someone is one of the many reasons and reminders of why we shouldn't back down just because of mistakes. After all, love shouldn't be a distraction; it should be our inspiration.

The best part of love is that you're never really alone when you have it. Someday there might be even someone that shows you a kind of love that would stop you from wanting them, because by then they'll be a need in your life. Valentine's Day, the day where we celebrate the roller coaster of emotions we experience because of our love; we share it, we show it, and we accept it, with its many kinds and thorns.

In lawn tennis, the secondary girls Panganiban and Villar acquired a silver medal in the doubles category, while Ardeña achieved a bronze medal in the singles category. In secondary boys, Abarquez and Porras achieved a silver medal for the doubles category, and in elementary boys, Lampago bagged the gold medal in the singles category.

In badminton, Contreras got a bronze medal in the singles category for the secondary boys. In elementary, Galang and Sotor K. both won bronze medals for the single category, and for the doubles category, Tan, alongside his partner Tayo won silver. For the girls, Sotor N. and Nguyo both won bronze in the singles category.

For swimming, 4x50m freestyle relay was won by Dela Cruz, Descalsota, Gale, and Tejada, and for the 100m breaststroke Dela Cruz won silver in the elementary girls. For the elementary boys Butande both won the 50m freestyle and the 100m breaststroke achieving gold and silver. The secondary boys 100m breaststroke was won by Blanco and achieved gold, and the 1500m freestyle was won by Misa and got gold.

In taekwondo, for the secondary boys Manangan won against 2 players and achieved the gold medal, while in the secondary girls Enuslay won a gold medal due to win by default. In table tennis, for the elementary girls Dieron won bronze in the singles category.

PNUV Scouts, nagpamalas ng kahusayan, talino, at talento sa Division Round-Up Inspection at Advancement Camp 2024, na ginanap noong Disyembre 6-8, 2024.

Disyembre 6, 2024 – Unang araw ng Division Round-Up Inspection at Advancement Camp 2024. Nagsimula ang kaganapan sa pagtayo ng mga tolda at seremonya ng pagsalubong. Ang mga paligsahang Christmas Pop Dance Contest, Christmas Pop Song Contest, Stylized Folk Dance Contest, Nativity of the Christ Contest, at Lakan at Lakambini ng BSP 2024 ay nag-umpisa rin.

Ikalawang araw ay inumpisahan ang programa sa pamamagitan ng morning devotion at excercise, breakfast at camp development, at camp inspection. Nagsimula na rin ang kanilang mga gawain at pangalawang paligsahan: Kawan Holiday, Lectures (Base Method), Chritmas Tree Making Contest, Christmas Card Making Contest, Parol Making Contest, Fiesta Boodle Fight Set-Up Competition.

Matapos ang Fellowship Lunch, nag-umpisa ang mga paligsahang Fancy Drill Competition, Bayle sa Kalye de Cadiz, Scout Rally, Skill-o-Rama, Show and Do, Laro ng Lahi, at Rover Activities. Ang araw ay natapos sa isang hapunan at Grand Camp Fire.

Sa huling araw, nagtapos ang seremonya sa pagwagayway ng watawat. Ang mga nanalo sa iba't ibang paligsahan ay inanunsyo.

𝐏𝐍𝐔𝐕 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟗 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐳 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭

Philippine Normal University Visayas Students bagged a total of 29 medals—25 gold and 4 silver medals—during the private school district meet that was held in Cadiz City on November 6-9, 2024.

In badminton, Contreras won gold in singles, and Olvido alongside his partner Mucha won a silver medal in doubles for the secondary. In elementary, Galang and Nguyo won 2 gold medals, and Sotor K. and Sotor N. won 2 silver medals in the singles category, while Tayo and Tan won a gold medal in the doubles category.

Ibanez and Zamoranos both won 2 gold medals in chess, and in volleyball, the girls' team won a silver medal.

In swimming, a total of 10 gold medals were won, and 7 gold medals won in tennis due to winning by default. Similarly, in taekwondo, 2 gold medals were won by default.
