Well said, Pang Oscar S. Moreno
When government fails in the basics, it sends a louder message than any broken promise. It tells people that neglect is acceptable, that disorder is normal, that they must simply live with what should have been solved long ago. Over time, this quiet failure becomes part of daily life, and citizens begin to lower their expectations.
But good governance should never mean adjusting to neglect. It should mean raising the standard, proving through action that leadership is present even in the smallest details. For if a government cannot manage the simplest of duties, how can it ever claim to succeed in the greater ones?
True leadership is not measured in projects that make headlines, but in the everyday discipline that makes communities dignified, livable, and worthy of their people.
