In systems that settle for silence instead of peace, death resolves dispute — wielding violence to enforce with fear.

Denied where journalism operates under looming threat, the facade of order is disrupt when the press insists on proof to kill what lives in secrecy.

The free press' oppression cannot be justified to maintain the absence of hostility. This World Press Freedom Day, to assert on the liberation of journalistic practice is to dismantle unreliable narratives that speak of peace, yet function on control.

Our resolve will remain unshattered in pursuit of truth and civic justice. In duty to materialize informed judgement, we persist, toward peace beyond promise.

The free campus press goes forth. Gusa Regional Science High School - X’s contenders prevail at the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC), held in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.

Notable returns to the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) include an Individual Science and Technology (SciTech) Writer, who will be GRSHS-X’s sole representative at the annual NSPC — held this upcoming April 2026 at Ormoc City, Leyte.

The strive for justice beyond laurel remains. Such testaments to excellence strengthen not merely pride in journalistic struggle for recognition, but a collective pursuit in service and heed of stories that matter.

Notable returns to the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) include both the Filipino and English Collaborative Desktop Publishing (CDP) Events. The annual NSPC will be held this upcoming April 2026 at Ormoc City, Leyte.

Hinirang ang 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙖 bilang 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻 sa ginanap na 2026 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) sa Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.

Their achievements lay itself testament to the values every Regionalista and campus journalist alike upholds - to remain steadfast in pursuit of excellence and the knowledge of truth. May the victory of their success in campus journalism go forth mere laurels!

Sa bawat paghamon at pagsubok, ipinapatuloy ninyo ang diwa at tungkulin ng isang tagapaglingkod ng katotohanan. Para sa ating lipunan, sana ay manatiling buhay ang tunay at tapat na mamahayag - dahil ang tagumpay at pagmamahal sa inyong gawa ay isang karangalang rumereplekta mula sa taos-pusong suporta ng inyong mga kasapi mula sa paaralan.

Signed into law in 2022, Republic Act (RA) 11699 officially established August 30 as National Press Freedom Day. This year, we celebrate its fourth observance: not just recognizing the current state of press freedom, but also reminding every journalist and all of us of the power we have to protect and exercise our fundamental right to free speech.

Historically and up to now, press freedom still finds itself battling against the forces of censorship, political pressure, and threats that constantly seek to silence the truth. But no amount of hostility, intimidation, or disinformation can ever cage the power of the press — or the courage of those who bravely wield it in the name of journalism.

For as long as stories continue to be told, the press stays impenetrable — no amount of bullets, money, or words can ever shatter its resolve.
