๐ก๐๐ช๐ฆ | In a university known for its strong foundation in research and innovation, Grade 12 students of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines โ Senior High School (USTP-SHS) showcased their research prototypes through the 2026 Research Summit at DRER Hall, May 7.
Guided by Research instructor Dr. Maria Angeles Dano-Hinosolango, the event served as part of the Grade 12 studentsโ compliance with the Research Capstone course, where they applied the Design Thinking approach in developing their research prototypes.
Further, the event formally began with the presence of University Chancellor Atty. Dionel O. Albina and the opening remarks delivered by SHS Principal Dr. Grace S. Pimentel before the official program proper commenced.
Moreover, booth presentations were conducted alongside the Senior High Lambigit participants, who showcased their prototypes, as well as the Learning Express (LeX) program delegates, who also presented the prototypes they developed during the program.
After the judging, the top three groups from each section were announced to advance to the pitching segment, where they presented and showcased their research prototypes.
The event concluded with an awarding ceremony recognizing the overall winners for Best Prototype, Best Paper, and Best Presenter. Meanwhile, awards for Best DT Booth and Best DT Engaged Booth were given, with the top three groups in each section recognized for both categories.
