“The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has allowed Xavier University, Liceo de Cagayan, and the nursing program of Capitol University, to offer strict F2F classes.

Capitol University was among the 60 universities nationwide granted permits to offer medical and allied health programs with limited face-to-face classes.

Dr Fe Juarez, executive vice president of Capitol University, said that the CHED allowed them to hold limited physical classes for the 3rd and 4th-year classes of their nursing program.

Juarez said that they applied for the permit after retrofitting their classrooms at the College of Nursing. “The permit was granted in April this year after CHED, DOH, and IATF inspected us,” Juarez said.”

With observed health and safety protocols, the Capitol University – Working Scholars Association (CU-WSA), together with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Amor Q. De Torres, initiated a community pantry for the CU Student Assistants on May 6, 2021, at the CU Open Stage.

The community pantry was made possible with the combined financial efforts coming from the faculty and staff. Indeed, no act of kindness is ever too small! CU has once again showcased her core values, especially the CARE.

The community pantry is open every Thursday of May 2021.
