CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY โ A total of 7 workers have successfully claimed their final settlement pay amounting to Php 30,232.13 from their previous employer after being terminated without receiving their last pay.
The workers initially sought help from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) before being referred to DOLE for proper assistance. With the guidance of a SEnA Desk Officer (SEADO), the case was promptly addressed and resolved at the DOLE Cagayan de Oro Field Office, 3rd Floor Trinidad Building, Corrales-Yacapin Street on September 15, 2025. Through DOLEโs Single Entry Approach (SEnA), the workers were given access to a speedy, impartial and inexpensive conciliation-mediation process designed to settle labor and employment disputes within 30 days.
One of the workers, St. Michael Pusod, expressed his gratitude for the assistance they received:
โMas maayo niduol mi diri kay kabalo mi na ma-serbisyoan gyud mig tarong. Mulaban si DOLE sa kung unsay insakto. Kay kung wala ni nga serbisyo, walay gyud patas na katungod.โ (โIt is better that we sought help here because we know we would be served fairly. DOLE stands for what is right. Without this service, there would be no equal rights.โ)
This case highlights DOLEโs continuing commitment to uphold the rights and welfare of workers, ensuring that they receive the just benefits they deserve.
