Cagayan de Oro City-The devastating fire in Brgy 17 left 312 families displaced, facing the harsh realities of homelessness and despair. In this dire situation, Senator Rodante Marcoleta stepped in to extend assistance to the victims, demonstrating a commitment to public service that goes beyond politics. Coordinated by Barangay Chairman Anthony A. Atterviry III, the support aimed not only to provide immediate relief but also to restore hope among those affected.

Senator Marcoleta's intervention was pivotal for the fire victims. His representative, Mr. Rodrigo Directo, effectively managed the distribution of financial aid directly to those impacted. Each victim received 1,000 pesos—though it may seem modest, this amount offers critical support for families struggling to meet their basic needs after losing their homes and possessions.

The gratitude expressed by Chairman Atterviry highlights the importance of community leadership during crises. He acknowledged Senator Marcoleta's timely assistance as a beacon of hope for his constituents who now find themselves cramped into tents with limited space—seven individuals sharing a small area under challenging conditions. This kind of help reassures victims that they are not forgotten amidst their struggles.

In addition to Senator Marcoleta’s financial aid, local government units (LGUs) played an essential role in providing daily necessities such as clean water and food supplies. These efforts creates a community’s resilience and solidarity in times of hardship. The combined support from both government parties illustrates how effective collaboration can make a significant difference in disaster response.

The assistance extended by Senator Rodante Marcoleta and Barangay Chairman Anthony A. Atterviry III has provided much-needed relief for the fire victims at Brgy 17. While challenges remain daunting, this act of kindness serves as a reminder that help is available when it is needed most. The hope restored through such gestures inspires unity and strength among those affected as they begin rebuilding their lives.Present at the distribution are people who devoted their time to help the fire victims my batch LDCU 91 Donald Lim,Jed Lasmarias and Gary Booc.
