Training Alone Won’t Create Real Change
In the Philippines, we love a good seminar, team building activities, certification programs, motivational workshops. And they do have value.
But let’s be honest: if leaders aren’t walking the talk, none of that sticks.
I’ve seen it too many times, teams come back from training all fired up, only to fall back into old patterns because their leaders aren’t showing up differently. If the culture at the top doesn’t reflect compassion, accountability, and inspiration, then how can we expect the team to follow suit?
Especially when leading Filipino teams, it’s not just about what you teach, it’s about what you model.
Real change happens when leaders take ownership, lead with empathy, and live out the values they talk about. That’s when teams feel safe, seen, and motivated, not micromanaged.
Let’s stop relying only on training and start becoming the kind of leaders people actually want to follow.
