Sniper 155 Change All πŸ“

A Sniper 155 from Davao came to us with a dead engine and loud knocking noise. Upon inspection, we found severe damage to the cylinder head internals, block, piston, crankshaft, and engine bearings. The engine was also filled with heavy oil sludge, a sign of poor oil flow that can lead to major engine failure.

At Speedtek, we completely rebuilt and cleaned the engine back to like-new condition. Now it runs smooth, quiet, and ready for the road again.

Customer S155 concerned: sudden engine shutdown and very delayed throttle response.

After a complete inspection here at Speedtek, we found several minor issues that had accumulated over time. The piston and cylinder head had heavy carbon deposits and oil sludge buildup, the clutch linings were already burned, the injector installed was not the correct standard injector for a Sniper 155, and both the fuel filter and air filter needed replacement.

We performed an engine refresh, major tune-up, replaced the injector, and clutch linings, then thoroughly cleaned all engine components until they looked like new again.

After reassembly, the engine ran smooth, responsive, and the throttle delay and sudden shutdown issues were completely gone.

Sometimes, many small problems combined can create one big performance issue.

Another busy day at Speedtek! πŸ”§

One of our Sniper 155 customers returned for his second engine refresh. The first refresh was done at 60,000 km, and now he’s nearing 100,000 km. We’re happy to see minimal carbon buildup on the piston crownβ€”a good sign of proper maintenance and engine health.

As always, every refresh includes thorough cleaning to bring the engine back to near brand-new condition.

We also started the initial process of a 232cc engine build while waiting for the remaining parts to arrive.

And for our customer from Dipolog, the Sniper 150 with a stuck-up engine is now back on the road after a major overhaul. Smooth, healthy, and running strong again! πŸ’ͺ🏍️

7 Sniper 150/155 units finished today, with 2 pending units here at Speedtek πŸ”§

One Sniper 155 came in with a dead engine. Upon inspection, we found a broken timing chain tensioner that caused the valves to hit the piston. All valves were bent and the block already had hairline cracks. The customer decided to upgrade into our Speedtek Purestock Specs build, and now the engine runs smooth again.

Another Sniper 150 V2 Superstock build from last year returned with a damaged cylinder head. The camshaft bearing housing became oversized, causing new bearings to fail repeatedly. Solution was replacing the cylinder head to restore proper reliability.

We also completed 3 engine refresh jobs on a Sniper V2, V1, and 155. All units had thick carbon buildup inside the engine. After proper cleaning and rebuilding at Speedtek, the piston and cylinder looked brand new again, and all engines are now running smooth.

The last 2 Sniper 155 units received:

β€’ Big radiator installation and coolant replacement

4 Snipers job done today β€” Sniper 150 V1, V2, V2, and 155. πŸ”§

One Sniper V2 came in with a loud engine sound. After inspection, we found damaged parts including the camshaft, rocker arm, block, piston, and water pump. After replacing the damaged parts, the engine now runs quiet and smooth again.

Our Sniper 155 customer experienced a broken stock tensioner that caused the piston and valves to collide. The bike was first repaired at another shop while we were in Bohol, but the engine developed a strange VVA noise afterward. When the bike arrived at Speedtek, we found that the VVA rocker arm was not properly installed. After rebuilding and correcting the issue, the engine is now running smooth and quiet once again.

The Sniper V1 had no idle and produced a loud β€œtagiktik” sound. Upon teardown, we found a damaged camshaft, a severely damaged valve, burnt clutch linings, damaged crankcase oil seal, and worn fuel filter and spark plugs. After replacing the faulty parts, the bike is back to proper condition.
