PNP RESPONDS SWIFTLY TO DILG’S UNIFIED 911 ALERT, THWARTS CARNAPPING IN ANTIQUE

Guided by the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to intensify the fight against crime, the Philippine National Police, under the leadership of Acting Chief PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., successfully intercepted a stolen vehicle and apprehended several suspects in Antique on October 26, 2025.

Acting on a report received from Unified 911, Belison Municipal Police Station personnel tracked a silver Mitsubishi Expander 2024 via GPS after it was reportedly taken without consent. Officers immediately established a checkpoint along the national highway in Poblacion, Belison. Although the vehicle initially attempted to evade authorities, police recovered it and arrested multiple individuals aged 18 to 35, all residents of Antique, found with fi****ms, live ammunition, knives, an axe, and other contraband. The suspects are currently detained at Belison Municipal Police Station pending proper disposition.

Investigation revealed that the rented vehicle had been extended beyond the agreed period without proper payment and was unlawfully lent to a third party for unknown activities. The incident highlights the critical role of community vigilance, rapid reporting through Unified 911, and swift PNP response in preventing and addressing criminal acts.

This operation aligns with the PNP Focused Agenda—a blueprint of transformation designed to make police service more responsive, accountable, and community-centered.

PNP Acting Chief PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. later stated, “This successful operation demonstrates the PNP’s resolve to swiftly act against criminality and protect the people. The men and women of Belison MPS showed commendable vigilance and professionalism. Let this serve as a reminder that any attempt to violate the law will meet immediate and decisive action. We will continue to enforce justice and maintain public safety in every corner of our nation.”

PNP Spokesperson PBGEN Randulf T. Tuaño added, “We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities immediately through channels like Unified 911. Cooperation between the community and the PNP is vital in keeping our streets safe.”

CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – With the expected surge of visitors in cemeteries and commuters traveling for UNDAS, PBGEN CHRISTOPHER N ABRAHANO, Acting Regional Director of PRO10, led a series of inspections on October 29, 2025, covering key public areas in Iligan City and Lanao del Norte.

PBGEN ABRAHANO visited three major locations to evaluate the readiness and effectiveness of security measures: Roman Catholic Cemetery Diocese of Iligan, Tambo Integrated Bus Terminal in Iligan City, and Mukas Port in Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte.

During the inspections, PBGEN ABRAHANO assessed police deployment, checked police assistance desks, and strengthened coordination with local authorities, terminal and port management, and security personnel to ensure a safe environment for the public.

“As we anticipate the arrival of more travelers and cemetery visitors, the police are working proactively to maintain peace and security. Buong-puso kaming nagbabantay para masiguro ang inyong kaligtasan sa biyahe at sa pagbisita sa inyong mga mahal sa buhay,” he said.

He also urged the public to remain alert, secure their belongings, and follow safety advisories.

“Maging alerto palagi. Magbiyahe nang ligtas, iwasang magdala ng mamahaling gamit, at agad i-report ang anumang kahina-hinalang tao o aktibidad,” he emphasized.

PRO10 has placed all police units under heightened alert status to strengthen law enforcement presence and enhance rapid response capability. Police checkpoints, mobile patrol units, and police assistance desks are being strengthened especially in cemeteries, transport terminals, seaports, and major roads.

PBGEN ABRAHANO extended his appreciation to the local government units and community partners for their collaborative efforts in maintaining public safety.
