His Wife Abandoned Him and Their Twin Daughters, Not Knowing They Would One Day Become Millionaires
Even after spending the entire day transporting heavy loads while caring for his babies, Mr. Peter felt happy. He had earned enough money to provide for his daughters. That night, he went to a nearby pharmacy and spoke with the pharmacist. He explained his situation and asked for help getting what he needed to feed his babies.
The kind pharmacist made a list for him. It included baby formula and a few basic medicines for infant care. Mr. Peter paid for everything and returned home feeling deeply grateful. Day after day, he continued working hard with the twins strapped to his chest. He had no one else to help him — his mother had passed away, and he had no sisters.
It was exhausting, but he never complained. In fact, he felt joy in his heart knowing he could care for his daughters. At first, he didn’t believe he could do it alone — but now, he was succeeding, and the babies were healthy.
One Monday morning, as he stepped out with his cart, a familiar voice called out to him.
It was Mama Caroline, an elderly neighbor. She approached him and said, “Let me take care of the babies today. I’ll watch them until you come back.” Mr. Peter hesitated. She added softly, “I want to help. Besides, the sun is too hot for these little ones. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of them.” After thinking for a moment, Mr. Peter handed her the babies and went to work. Although he was relieved from the physical burden of carrying them all day, his heart remained restless. Those girls were his everything. Ever since their mother left, he had formed an unbreakable bond with them. He would give his life to protect them.
Mama Caro, as everyone called her, was poor — but her heart was rich with kindness. She cared for the babies with love. She fed them, bathed them, and dressed them gently. When Mr. Peter returned in the afternoon, he found his daughters laughing happily in Mama Caro’s arms. He smiled with deep gratitude and took them home. From that day forward, Mama Caro helped him whenever he went out to work with his cart.
The twin girls grew up knowing just two people: their loving father and Mama Caro, the woman they came to call “Mom.” Mary and Naomi didn’t attend the best private schools, but their father worked hard to pay for their school fees and every book they needed. He also taught them to be kind, respectful, and hardworking.
At 18 years old, the twins graduated from their local community high school. Mr. Peter was filled with pride. The girls studied day and night to prepare for their WAK and JAMB exams. Mary scored 325 on her JAMB, while Naomi scored even higher — 341. Both were accepted to study Medicine and Surgery at the same university.
