Today, we honor the courage, sacrifices, and deep love of our Filipino heroes who fought for our freedom, justice, and country. To those who came before us and gave everything so we could live without fear, we owe our liberty and our future.

Ninety-five years have passed, but the courage of our heroes still burns in the heart of every Filipino today. Standing together as a community, we remember that our freedom was built on love for our country.

From the red, blue, white, and yellow of our flag, we carry the living legacy of the brave men and women who fought for our freedom.

Not only that, to our contemporary heroes who keep our country afloat and bring pride to our national identity, such as our farmers, teachers, healthcare workers,patriots, OFWs, and the like, we see you and we also honor this day for you.

COLLEGE NEWS | LCLG bags 3 special awards, dances to 2nd runner-up spot in Danztrack โ€˜26

Bringing pride outside the walls of Lourdes College, the Likhang Galaw (LG) dance team won the Most Popular, Most Creative Video, and Best in Production Number awards and emerged as 2nd runners-up for the college division during the Danztrack Philippines 2026 inter-school dance competition on August 23, 2026, at Capitol Universityโ€™s Gymnasium.

As she reflected on their podium finish, Princess Diane Canteveros, the team's dance captain, emphasized, "Our excellence knows no limitsโ€”in academics, in faith, and in every beat we dance to. We are Lourdesians, and we are made for more.โ€

PHINMA - Cagayan de Oro College (COC) claimed the college division championship alongside the Best in Costume and Best in Showdown awards, while the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) finished as 1st runner-up.

Organized as a premier inter-school dance battle across Northern Mindanao, Danztrack Philippines served as a high-energy platform for student performers to demonstrate athletic choreography, discipline, and artistic expression among participating schools in Cagayan de Oro.

For Lourdes College, competing and placing on such prominent stages opens another vital avenue to foster holistic student development while showcasing the creative talents of Lourdesians to a broader public audience.

LOOK | ASEAN Month Celebration unfolds at LC

As part of the annual commemoration of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), special clubs under the Teacher Education Program (TEP) of Lourdes College set up an interactive booth in the main hallway today, August 19, 2026, displaying vibrant posters, national flags, and rich cultural artifacts representing various ASEAN member states in honor of ASEAN Month.

Adding to the festivities, the group held a special ASEAN Quiz Bee Competition earlier today. Aside from the contest, the hallway booth features engaging trivia games and an interactive voting station where students can cast their votes for the best student-designed infographic.
