Uphill Journey: Achievements, Lessons, and Bonds That Last

The tassels are turned, medals are awarded, and achievements are celebrated—but beyond these moments, what do they truly represent for us as students?

As the school year comes to a close, it marks more than just an ending. It is a turning point—one that reflects not only what we have accomplished, but who we are becoming. Behind every recognition lies a journey shaped by effort, sacrifice, and quiet perseverance.

For four quarters, we faced late nights, demanding workloads, and moments of uncertainty. Yet through it all, we continued to move forward. We showed up, even when it was difficult, and allowed each challenge to shape us into stronger and more capable individuals.

Like the paths we envision for ourselves, our dreams begin to take form through the choices we make today. Whether we see ourselves in fields of service, leadership, or innovation, these aspirations are built upon the foundation we are laying now. The lessons we learn and the values we carry will guide us as we step into the roles we hope to fulfill in the future.

These milestones remind us that success is not defined solely by awards, but by growth. For those who have completed this chapter, it is a well-earned moment of pride. For those who continue the journey, it serves as both inspiration and motivation to keep striving toward their own goals.

As we move forward, we carry with us not only knowledge, but also the bonds we have formed along the way. These connections, strengthened through shared experiences, will remain with us even as our paths begin to diverge.

The future may still be unfolding, but we step into it with courage and purpose—knowing that every step we have taken has brought us closer to who we aspire to be.

Congratulations on completing another remarkable school year, Liceans!

Araw ng Kagitingan: A Tribute to Bravery

Every April 9, the Philippines observes Araw ng Kagitingan, a national holiday honoring the bravery and sacrifices of Filipino and American soldiers during World War II.

On this day, people commemorate the occasion by holding ceremonies, offering wreaths, and honoring veterans. It serves as a reminder of the fall of Bataan and the courage of those who fought. It also encourages younger generations to remember and learn from the nation’s history.

This day emphasizes the value of freedom and peace that were earned through their sacrifices.

A Season of Renewal: Celebrating Easter Sunday

On this day, April 5, 2026, Catholics celebrate Easter Sunday, one of the most significant celebrations in the Catholic calendar. Easter Sunday commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It symbolizes renewal and the triumph of life over death.

Observed at the end of Holy Week, Easter Sunday follows Black Saturday and marks the fulfillment of God’s promise of salvation. This day is celebrated by Catholics in ways such as attending church services and participating in joyful gatherings. It is also a time for reflection, as we strengthen our faith and relationships with others.

As we celebrate this meaningful occasion, may it inspire us to embrace new beginnings and spread kindness in our community. Happy Easter Sunday to everyone!

A Day of Waiting: The Significance of Holy Saturday

On April 4, 2026, Catholics observe Black Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday. It marks the time when Jesus lay in the tomb, and His followers were left in grief and uncertainty after His crucifixion.

For many, this day is observed through prayer, reflection, and quiet waiting. It emphasizes patience in moments of doubt and reminds the faithful of the pause between suffering and hope. Black Saturday conveys a powerful message: even in life’s darkest moments, something meaningful may be on the horizon.

Good Friday: Remembering Christ’s Sacrifice

On April 3, 2026, the Catholic community observes Good Friday, the second day of the Paschal Triduum. This solemn day commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for humanity.

In observance, many Catholics engage in prayer, fasting, and the Stations of the Cross. These practices encourage reflection on Christ’s suffering and His message of love and redemption. They also serve as a reminder to deepen one’s spiritual commitment and renew one’s personal relationship with God.

As we mark Good Friday, may this day inspire us to live with humility and a stronger faith.

Maundy Thursday: A Day of Reflection

On April 2, 2026, Catholics observe Maundy Thursday as the opening of the Paschal Triduum. Maundy Thursday celebrates the final meal shared by Jesus Christ and His disciples, a moment remembered for its message of compassion.

Maundy Thursday also recalls the washing of the feet, when Jesus humbly washed His disciples’ feet as a lesson in service and love. The day further commemorates the institution of the Eucharist and the call to serve others, highlighting its deeper spiritual significance.

The observance centers on quiet reflection, encouraging believers to contemplate Jesus’s sacrifice.

Catholics Celebrate Palm Sunday as Holy Week Begins

Catholics around the world observe Palm Sunday on March 29, 2026, marking the beginning of Holy Week. The day commemorates Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, an event described in the Gospels as the start of His final days before His crucifixion.

Across many countries, worshippers take part in the blessing and distribution of palm branches, a central tradition of the celebration. These palms are often carried in processions, woven into decorative forms, or shaped into small crosses. People typically take these blessed palms home, while church services focus on the beginning of Holy Week.

Religious observances on Palm Sunday highlight both celebration and reflection—honoring Christ’s arrival in Jerusalem while also preparing believers for the solemn events of Holy Week.
