Today, after more than a decade, I officially step down as one of the heads of Defiance-Buhay Bola (DBB) and turn over the presidency to Nay Verta.
Being the head and one of the major decision makers of this organization was never an easy responsibility. There were countless challenges, misunderstandings, sacrifices, and moments where things felt heavy. But despite all of that, I can honestly say that I do not regret any part of this journey.
The organization under my supervision was far from perfect, but I gave everything I could to keep it running, growing, and afloat through every hurdle we faced. Every effort came from a place of genuine love for this community and for the people who became part of it.
To every single member who became part of our family, thank you. Each one of you contributed to the growth of DBB in your own way. Thank you for the trophies, recognitions, victories, and achievements you brought to the organization. But more than those, thank you for the memories we shared both inside and outside the court. Those moments will always mean the most to me.
Today, I am wholeheartedly appointing and turning over the presidency to Nay Verta because I sincerely believe that she is capable of carrying the duties and responsibilities of being a leader not only inside the volleyball court, but beyond it as well. I hope everyone gives her the same support, trust, cooperation, and respect as she leads the organization toward better things ahead.
Many people have come and gone through DBB, but one thing that has always remained constant is that this organization keeps its doors open. And I believe it always will.
Stepping down as head does not mean I am leaving or backing out as your leader. I will still be here beside all of you supporting, guiding, and cheering for this family whenever needed. For now, I simply want to focus more on my personal goals and growth.
So here’s to more years or maybe even infinity years of building, strengthening, and growing this beautiful community we created together.
