๐๐๐๐: Despite facing significant challenges on preparations, the Center for Sports Development Office (CSDO) has officially confirmed the participation of City College of Calamba (CCC) in the upcoming 14th Local Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (LCUAA) National Games 2025, pledging its delegation during the student-athlete screening process held at the Roman Lazaro Hall on September 20.
โFor many years, competing in the LCUAA National Games was just a dreamโฆa dream that seemed far [and] almost impossible for a young and growing institution like ours, yet in 2023 that dream came true.โ Prof. Aveto Dasal Jr., Director of the Center for Sports Development Office (CSDO), expressed as the institution was now able to expand its sports delegation.
Prof. Dasal admitted that the collegeโs athletes were still struggling particularly in lack of facilities, delayed game schedules, limited budget, and transportation issues.
โโYung facilities natin. Yan talaga nagiging problema natin sa pag-prepare, and then doon naman sa competition proper natin, of course, yung budget,โ explained Prof. Dasal.
The official competition schedule per game category has not yet been released by the LCUAA, making it difficult for CCC to finalize travel, accommodations, and post-game arrangements.
Still, the CSDO remains determined to push forward. โGinagawa naman natin yung best natin para mag-train, para ma-meet natin yung bawat isa, yung common time para mag-training.โ Prof. Dasal stressed that amid the challenges, he is confident the CCC Valiants will bring home a win.
The CCC Valiants are set to compete in basketball, volleyball, badminton, karate-do, and cheerleading, for the first time marking another milestone for the institution compared in the Local Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (LCUAA) 2023, CCC only participated in Pageant Competition and Cheerdance.

To formalize participation, CCC also conducted the 14th LCUAA Accreditation and Screening of Student-Athletes on the same day.
LCUAA Board of Screeners, led by Prof. Joel Duclayan of LCUAA Commissioner and Mr. Jan Vincent Aranza of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa Sports Director, oversaw the screening process.
The process required athletes to present documents such as PSA birth certificate, Certificate of Enrollment, grade reports, and medical certificates.
A total of 20 students for the Men's Volleyball team, 15 for karate-do, 30 for cheerdance, 10 for the Men's and Women's Badminton teams, and 20 for 5x5 basketball passed the screening process.
