Corruption grows where silence lives. Honest conversations, public outrage, and collective action are needed to reclaim integrity in governance.

Thank You, Lord, for my mama 💗🙏🏻

Back to where it all started 💗

Hindi ko inakalang darating ang araw na babalik ako sa campus journalism pero hindi na bilang kalahok, kundi bilang isa sa mga lecturers sa In-Campus Journalism Training and Workshop para sa Copyreading and Headline Writing category.

Thank you very much to my former SPA during high school, Sir Patinio, for this opportunity po. Being able to mentor 10 aspiring campus journalists today na pinili ang Copyreading and Headline Writing brought back so many memories 🥹 the adrenaline of competitions, the late nights editing (haha sa office ni Ma'am Malibiran), the laughter, the tears, the friendships, and the quiet victories we celebrated over a well-written articles at syempre sa natapos na school paper!!!🥹🤧

I shared with the participants how I started my journey in campus journalism way back in elementary. I was a proud member of our school paper 🤗 from The Western Torch, Ang Sulo ng Kanluran, to The Seed and Ang Binhi in high school. I remember winning 2nd place in DSPC - Copyreading and Headline Writing during elementary, which allowed me to compete in RSPC. Then again in high school, as a freshman, I placed 2nd in the same category and hello RSPC ulit ang atake. Campus journalism has truly shaped so much of who I am not just as a writer, but as a person.😊

It’s been 14 years since I last competed, but standing there in front of young copyreaders today reminded me that my love for journalism never left, it only grew deeper.

So to all the young journalists I met today, I hope I left you with something valuable. And to my former advisers who believed in me back then, mga Ma'am at mga Sir 🙏🏻 thank you for being part of this journey that I now get to pass on to others. I am deeply humbled, honored, and forever grateful po 🙏🏻

And to my fellow former campus journalists who are now mentoring the next generation ... do you feel this too? That heartwarming joy of being on the other side? From once being the dreamers, we have become the ones who now inspire. What a full-circle moment. 🥹💙
