Be sure you never assume a sense of entitlement with God. Think of all he has done for you- your family, your health, your talents,your friends, your church, your home. Think of the opportunities he's given you and the many times he's protected you from danger. Most of all, consider that he died on the cross to provide forgiveness for your sins and to give you a brand-new life. As you're rushing out to enjoy your blessings, don't forget to stop long enough to say thank you.

MEDITATION

Jesus is the Good Shepherd who knows and cares for His sheep. He is willing to give up His life for us, and provides us with a way to safety. He desires an intimate relationship with us, and if we trust Him, He will provide for us and guide us. He is our Shepherd, and we can choose to follow Him.

PRAY

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for being my guide and protector. I pray that I may be able to better understand Your will and be closer to You. May I be able to recognize Your voice and follow it faithfully. In Your name, amen.

Heavenly Father,
in the quiet of this moment,
I lift my heart to You in thanks for the breadth of Your mercy.
Your patience is a harbor of hope for the lost,
and I am grateful for the time You have granted us to share the beacon of Your love.
Infuse my spirit with the resolve to carry Your light into the corners of despair,
that more may come to know You and rejoice in Your salvation.
Grant me the grace to wait with a faith that endures, eyes fixed on the horizon of Your promised return.
In the blessed assurance of Jesus' name,
I offer this prayer. Amen.
