𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐍𝐏 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐙𝐎𝐍 | 𝟎𝟗 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The National Fire Training Institute, under the leadership of 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐃 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐒𝐀, conducted a Firefighting Orientation for personnel of the Philippine National Police CALABARZON (PNP 4A), providing participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in fire prevention and emergency response. The activity featured lectures on basic firefighting principles, fire behavior, and appropriate response measures, equipping participants with a stronger understanding of how to act safely and effectively during fire emergencies.

Complementing the classroom discussions were actual demonstrations of firefighting techniques, allowing the PNP personnel to observe and better understand the proper application of firefighting methods. Participants were likewise given hands-on instruction on the correct use of a fire extinguisher, emphasizing the importance of knowing how to respond immediately and safely to a developing fire before it escalates.

This activity marks the beginning of a collaborative partnership between NFTI and the PNP, highlighting the shared commitment of both agencies to strengthen emergency preparedness and promote a culture of safety among uniformed personnel. Through continued collaboration, NFTI and the PNP aim to build stronger inter-agency capabilities and foster a more coordinated response in protecting lives, property, and communities.

The National Fire Training Institute uniformed personnel actively participated in the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) as part of the Institute’s continuing efforts to maintain physical readiness, discipline, and operational fitness among its personnel. Conducted under the leadership of NFTI Director 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐃 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐒𝐀, the activity also serves as a timely preparation for the upcoming Fire Basic Recruit Course (FBRC), where NFTI’s uniformed personnel will once again take on the vital responsibility of training, guiding, and mentoring the next batch of firefighter trainees.

As the Institute prepares for another busy training cycle, maintaining physical fitness and readiness remains essential in ensuring that its personnel are capable of meeting the demands of instruction and field-oriented activities. More than a measure of physical capability, the PFT reinforces discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and readiness—qualities that NFTI personnel must exemplify as they shape and prepare future firefighters for service to the Filipino people.

Under the leadership of 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐃 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐒𝐀, NFTI Director, the National Fire Training Institute joined the celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, officiated by FSUPT EFREN BALISTOY, NFTI Chaplain.

Today’s reflection reminds us of Mary’s courage to say “Yes” to God’s call—a yes rooted in faith, trust, and unwavering courage despite the uncertainties ahead.

May we, too, be inspired to say yes to our calling and have the courage to remain steadfast, whatever odds and challenges life may bring. Whether in our career, family, service, or in any circumstance, may we continue to stand firm in faith, embrace our responsibilities, and trust that every challenge has a purpose.

As members of the public safety community, may we carry this reflection with us: readiness is not only about being prepared for duty, but also about having the courage to answer the call and remain faithful whatever the circumstances.

𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 | 𝐅𝐉𝐋𝐂 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔-𝟓𝟑 “𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐍”

A new chapter in leadership and service begins as the Fire Junior Leadership Course (FJLC) Class 2026-53 formally inducted its class officers and unveiled its official class name and logo, “SALIGAN.”

Derived from the Filipino word meaning “foundation” or “foothold,” SALIGAN represents the class’s humble beginnings and the foundation upon which its members will build their journey as fire officers. It embodies the principles of Service, Action, Leadership, Integrity, Gallantry, and Nationalism—values that shall guide them throughout their training and future service to the Bureau and the Filipino people.

The class also carries the Filipino ideals of Serbisyong Tapat, Alisto sa Panganib, Lideratong May Paninindigan, Imbestigasyong Masusi, Gawaing Pangkaligtasan, Agarang Pagtugon, at Nagkakaisang Pamayanan, reflecting their commitment to responsive, principled, and community-centered public service.

Serving as the Keynote Speaker, NFTI Director 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐃 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐒𝐀, reminded the class that leadership and service extend beyond positions, titles, and places of assignment. She emphasized that wherever they may be assigned, they must remain committed to serving the Filipino people with dedication and integrity. Every station, every community, and every responsibility is an opportunity to uphold the trust vested in them as members of the fire service.

As Class SALIGAN continues its journey through the course, may its members remain steadfast in purpose and grounded in the values of duty, integrity, leadership, and service. May its class officers lead not merely through authority, but through example, becoming a strong and reliable foundation for their peers and dedicated public servants for the Filipino people.

The personnel of the National Fire Training Institute, headed by its Director, 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐃 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐀, 𝐌𝐏𝐒𝐀, and together with the FOAC 2026-24 and FOCC 2026-22, participated in the Joint Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the PRO 4A Grandstand. The gathering brought together uniformed personnel from different public safety agencies in a shared expression of patriotism, discipline, and commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to them as public servants.

During the ceremony, Director of the PNP Training Service, 𝐏𝐁𝐆𝐄𝐍 𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐎 𝐌 𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐍, delivered an inspiring message highlighting the importance of public service among uniformed personnel, regardless of the agency or organization they represent. His message underscored that while agencies may have different mandates and functions, they are united by one fundamental purpose—to serve the Filipino people with dedication, integrity, and a genuine sense of duty.

The Joint Flag Raising Ceremony served as a meaningful reminder that the uniform represents more than authority—it carries a responsibility to protect, serve, and uphold the trust of the people. As NFTI continues to fulfill its mandate in strengthening the capabilities of the country’s firefighters, its personnel remain committed to working alongside fellow uniformed services toward a safer, more resilient, and better-served Filipino community.

𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐎 𝐒. 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐒, 𝐃𝐏𝐒𝐒𝐆, as part of NFTI’s continuing efforts to advance digitalization and promote more efficient and modern systems within the organization. The activity highlights the Institute’s commitment to innovation and the use of technology in strengthening organizational processes.

The distribution was also an opportunity for FSSUPT CULA to pay a courtesy call on the PPSC key officials, fostering stronger coordination and collaboration between NFTI and the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC). The engagement further reinforces the shared commitment to professionalism, innovation, and excellence in public safety education and training, as NFTI continues to support initiatives that contribute to a more connected and digitally enabled organization.

A new chapter of leadership and camaraderie officially begins as the Fire Officer Advance Course 2026-24 conducts the Induction of Class Officers, formally recognizing the individuals entrusted to lead, represent, and inspire their fellow fire officers throughout their training journey. The ceremony marks not only the assumption of responsibilities but also the commitment to uphold teamwork, discipline, integrity, and excellence.

Adding meaning to their identity as a class, the members of FOAC 2026-24 “TANGLAW” also unveiled and presented their official class logo and class name—a symbol of their shared aspirations, unity, and dedication to the noble mission of being leaders of the fire service. Like a 𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙬 that illuminates the path in times of darkness, the class embodies the spirit of leadership and service that guides them toward becoming more capable, decisive, and committed fire officers.
