𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧, 𝗣𝗘𝗭𝗔 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗛 𝗗𝗟𝗦𝗨 𝗟𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗡𝗔 𝗔𝗦 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪𝗟𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘, 𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬 𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) inaugurate the second declared Knowledge, Innovation, Science and Technology (KIST) ecozone in the country at the De La Salle University Laguna Campus, Biñan City, Laguna on October 8, Wednesday.

The declaration is in line with the Proclamation No. 985, s. 2025 of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., creating and designating a parcel of land located at De La Salle University Science and Technology Complex as a KIST Ecozone.

DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr., PEZA OIC-Director General Rowena Naguit, and DLSU President Br. Bernard Oca FSC led the event, where they recognized the historic milestone for the campus as the first KIST ecozone established in a private university in the country.

The DLSU Innovation Hub serves as a center for interdisciplinary research, innovation, and social impact which specializes in Advanced Biotech Systems and Engineering. The hub features state-of-the-art research and design laboratories, incubation and acceleration programs, innovation spaces, and will boost knowledge transfer, industry partnerships, innovation-led entrepreneurship, aligned with the country’s innovation and industrialization agenda.

KIST ecozones signify the government’s support to innovation and signals a strengthened collaboration among academe, industries, and government, anchored in the goals of the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028. These zones will also provide a platform for start-up companies, SMEs, and industries that can co-locate with universities to accelerate innovation and economic growth.

DLSU Laguna is the second declared Knowledge Hub following Batangas State University. Currently, there are more than 30 higher education institutions undergoing rigid evaluation to be declared as KIST ecozones.

Sa aktibong pagtutulungan at ugnayan ng De La Salle University sa Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) at Department of Science and Technology (DOST) ay opisyal nang kinilala at binuksan ang DLSU Laguna Campus Innovation Hub bilang isang Knowledge, Science, Innovation and Technology Park Ecozone ngayong Miyerkules, Oktubre 8.

Layon ng KIST ecozones na mapalakas ang kapasidad ng mga unibersidad sa research at agham, mapalago ang mga industriya, at makalikha ng karagdagang trabaho.

Binigyang-diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa pagpupulong kasama ang League of Cities of the Philippines ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaisa ng pambansang pamahalaan at mga lokal na pamahalaan upang maging mas epektibo ang pagpapatupad ng mga programa ng gobyerno.

Ayon sa Pangulo, sa pamamagitan ng matibay na ugnayan at koordinasyon, masisig**o na ang mga programa ng pamahalaan ay maipatutupad nang maayos at mararamdaman ng bawat Pilipino saan mang panig ng bansa.

Ten outstanding children beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Calabarzon showed their achievements and community involvement during the regional screening of the Search for the Exemplary 4Ps Children held on October 3 in Tagaytay City.

The annual search aims to recognize the 4Ps children who excel in good values, academic excellence, and active participation in the communities.

TINGNAN | Nagsagawa ng monitoring visit ang CALABARZON Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC) sa mga holding center sa Laguna at Batangas noong Miyerkules, Oktubre 7.

Layon ng pagbisita na masig**o ang maayos na kalagayan, serbisyo, at mga programang pangkalinga para sa mga Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), Children at Risk (CAR), at mga Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) survivor.

Sinuri ng RJJWC ang kalinisan at seguridad ng pasilidad, kalidad ng psychological intervention, case management, at koordinasyon ng mga social worker at house parent.

Binisita rin ng RJJWC ang AKAP Holding Center sa Sta. Cruz, CWPC Center-1 sa San Pablo City, Bahay Aruga sa Nasugbu, Tuy Shelter sa Tuy, at PNP Balayan.

Ang CALABARZON RJJWC ay binubuo ng iba't ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan sa rehiyon kabilang ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Justice (DOJ), Philippine National Police(PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), at Philippine Information Agency (PIA) na sama-samang nagsusulong ng karapatan at kapakanan ng mga bata.

Isinagawa rin ang Focus Group Discussion (FGD) upang marinig mismo ang mga karanasan at pangangailangan ng mga batang nasa pangangalaga ng mga shelter. | via Cecille Maloles - PIA4A

LOOK: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with Koloma Inc. today, October 8, 2025, to discuss the expansion of natural hydrogen sites in the country. This meeting is part of the government’s goal to reduce pollution and accelerate the shift to clean energy.
