TUPAD workers prepare OMNHS campus for new school year
Campus Needs, naTUPAD!
Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD), a group of volunteers from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), prepares the campus for the school year 2024-2025 by leveling up the Brigada Eskwela Program in Oriental Mindoro National High School, July 22-August 6, 2024.
TUPAD volunteers conducted various tasks to enhance the school's facilities, including landscaping and tree trimming around the Arnan Panaligan Building, STE Kabayan Building, Zamora Building, OMNHS Guest House, OMNHS Biodiversity and Mangrove Conservation and Eco-Park, Gulayan sa Paaralan, and the STEM Laboratory.
To improve student comfort, they also helped to install new tables and chairs in the Jacinto Building and swept the campus hallways.
Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Ma’am Merlie Mauhay, expressed gratitude for the volunteers and highlighted their significant role in preparing the school for the new academic year.
"Having them as volunteers is a big help in making our school safe and ready for the opening of classes," Mauhay stated.
While Mauhay hopes for continued support from DOLE and anticipates more voluntary work from TUPAD, she underscores the importance of punctuality among the volunteers and is committed to continuously improving the OMNHS campus.
