IN PHOTOS | Promoting kindness, respect, and a culture free from bullying takes center stage as the school community caps off the month’s value integration initiative through the theme “Ako’y Mabuti, Pass Tayo sa Bully.”

As a meaningful expression of this advocacy, Special Program in the Arts (SPA) students led the Monday Flag Raising Assembly with a performance of the “Ako’y Mabuti” Dance Challenge, engaging the student body in embracing the value of kindness and active peer participation.

Following the performance, Ma’am Doreen Calivara reinforced the theme’s core message, encouraging students to choose kindness, reject bullying, and actively contribute to a safe, respectful, and supportive campus environment.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of all those who suffered, fought, and endured the hardships of the Martial Law era. Their stories remain a vital part of our national memory, reminding us of the high cost of the freedom and peace we value today.

As we carry their legacy forward, we must remain vigilant against attempts to distort history and rewrite the truth. Remembering is a form of resistance, and it is our collective duty to ensure that the horrors of the past are never repeated and never forgotten. Let us stand firm in truth and democracy, honoring the victims by protecting the liberties they fought and died for.

IN PHOTOS | Oriental Mindoro National High School’s Gabaldon Hall hosts the 2026 Nationwide Work Immersion Fair for MIMAROPA, bringing together education leaders, government agencies, and private enterprises to expand Senior High School career pathways under the theme "Bridging Aspiration and Opportunity: Strengthening Industry-School Partnerships."

Key figures—including ARD Dr. Cherrylou D. Repia, CLMD Chief Dr. Wendell I. Formalejo, SDO-Calapan Superintendent Mrs. Susana M. Bautista, and City Education Officer Mrs. Marvie D. Manibo—attend in person alongside MIMAROPA’s Schools Division Superintendents joining via Microsoft Teams to align curricula with industry demands.

This initiative directly supports the pilot launch of the Strengthened SHS Curriculum by bolstering its TechPro and TVL Tracks, with school representatives collaborating with 28 industry and government partners through interactive exhibits, matching sessions, and policy discussions to validate student slots on the National Work Immersion Portal while evaluating competencies against real-world job needs.

OMNHS underscores the joint commitment with DepEd MIMAROPA and local partners to transform classroom education into viable employment opportunities.

IN PHOTOS | Oriental Mindoro National High School (OMNHS) kicks off the second term by hosting its 2nd General School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) meeting to review first-term achievements and align goals for the months ahead.

Parents, teachers, and school officials gather at the Governor Alfonso Umali Sr. Memorial Gymnasium to discuss key updates, project proposals, and budget allocations for School Year 2026–2027.

Placing campus security as the priority, the SPTA highlights major turnstile gate developments designed to streamline access and safeguard students.

Despite receiving no SPTA contributions during the first term, the association actively coordinates with contractors to finish initial construction on the main turnstile gate extension, expanding the entrance to accommodate additional X-Ray machines.

The proposed roadmap for 2026 further prioritizes this upgrade by planning the construction of an additional turnstile gate at the school's back entrance to manage campus traffic effectively.

Alongside physical infrastructure and student achievements, the school presents disciplinary statistics from the first term (June to September 9, 2026) showing 139 total disciplinary cases—including 53 written reprimands, 64 suspensions, 11 non-readmissions, and 9 exclusions—underscoring the crucial need for tighter access controls and campus monitoring through turnstiles.

SPTA President for S.Y. 2026 - 2027, Shyrell Clemino, emphasizes the urgent need to pair these physical turnstile barriers with additional manpower to manage the growing safety challenges of over 6000 learners.

"Kulang na kulang para sa higit anim na libong estudyante [ang security staff] kaya sana'y makakapagdagdag tayo ng dalawa o tatlong security guard," she said.

To address student behavior proactively beyond security hardware, the SPTA shifts its advocacy focus toward a dedicated mental health awareness campaign, evolving from last year's initiative on juvenile delinquency awareness.

If funds permit, the association aims to provide accident insurance to all contributing students, broadening coverage beyond last year’s scope which only protected immersion learners.

Furthermore, collected funds will continue to sponsor learner participation in regional and national competitions as well as major institutional events such as Teachers Day, sports meets, and Brigada Eskwela.
