March 11, 2026โ The sweltering morning sun mirrored the vibrant hospitality of San Policarpo National High School (SPNHS) as it welcomed the Regional Management Committee of Lakbay Aral from the Schools Division of Biliran City. The visit aimed to evaluate the schoolโs implementation of the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program.
The SPNHS Drum and Lyre Corps, alongside the Special Program in the Arts (SPA) Dance Company, greeted the delegates with a synergistic performance, showcasing the schoolโs signature Humble Winnersโ Spirit.
School Principal Mr. Romeo D. Castante expressed immense pride while acknowledging the communityโs collective effort in hosting the event. โWe are deeply honored to host this Lakbay ARAL monitoring, benchmarking, and technical assistance session. Today marks another milestone for SPNHS, the home of the humble winners,โ Mr. Castante remarked.
Dr. Reynaldo T. Bernales, Public School District Supervisor of Calbayog V District, formally introduced the distinguished guests from SDO Biliran: Dr. Roberto N. Mangaliman, CESO VI and Schools Division Superintendent; Sir Alvin T. Elatico, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; Sir Jose B. Mondido, CID Chief Education Supervisor; and Maโam Josephine Casas, SGOD Chief Education Superintendent. He also acknowledged the local government officials of Brgy. San Policarpo, including Hon. Lydia D. Naparan, Barangay Captain; Hon. Renel C. Aguilar, Chairman of the Committee on Education; and Hon. Daryl V. Maranguez, SK Chairman. Additionally, the attendance of the SPTA President, Engr. Marlon Saldaรฑa, was recognized.
During his speech, Dr. Mangaliman, the Schools Division Superintendent of Biliran City, commended the SPNHS administration and stakeholders for their meticulous preparation. He emphasized the importance of the communityโs role in supporting such large-scale educational initiatives.
The delegates will serve as evaluators for the schoolโs ex*****on of the ARAL Program, established under Republic Act No. 12028. The program is designed to bridge learning gaps and enhance literacy and numeracy among K-10 learners, specifically focusing on Reading, Mathematics, and Science.
SPNHS stands as one of the pioneering schools selected for this evaluation, a distinction the institution regards with high honor as it continues to strive for academic excellence.
