𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗨𝗽!

Due to rehabilitation concerns, the famous Calbiga hanging bridge that serves as the primary route to and from Calbiga National High School, underwent inspection and is being deloaded by controlling the number of passers-by, offering alternate routes, and a free crossing ride using the floating cottage—all initiated and sponsored by the Local Government Unit, and facilitated by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), with the assistance of Philippine National Police (PNP)-Calbiga and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Calbiga. This crucial step is being carried out to ensure the safety of the students, personnel, and visitors. With the inconvenience this issue brings, the school administration humbly asks for everyone's patience and understanding. The school is working hand-in-hand with our local officials to ensure that all safety measures are in place. Moreover, Dr. Moises D. Labian, Jr., Schools Division Superintendent, Samar Division, visited the school this morning to check on the status of the learners and employees with the challenges brought by the issue and gave TA to the school and district on how to handle the situation in order to mitigate risks and continue safe passage for everyone using the bridge.

With this unceasing support coming from LGU-Calbiga, sincere gratitude is extended by the entire school to Hon. Mayor Red L. Nacario, Municipal Mayor, who, together with his team of engineers, visited Calbiga National High School on July 23, 2025 and had a special meeting with the School Principal, Mrs. Concepcion P. Mabini, and Calbiga II District Head, Dr. Mercelita A. Arraz, regarding the current status of the hanging bridge. Right after, they proceeded to the School Activity Center to inform the learners and faculty on the strategies the school and LGU will be taking to finally resolve the problem at hand. In his speech, Hon. Nacario recommended that the school must also inform all the brgy. captains about the current issue through a conference. Furthermore, Hon. Nacario assured everyone that the ongoing construction of the pathway from Brgy. Polangi to the school will be fast-tracked to be another alternative route.
Mrs. Mabini accepted the suggestion and even added that all the parents will also be informed through the SPTA.
