Academic excellence continued to shine at Calbiga National High School as six graduated learners successfully passed the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT), while two students earned slots in the prestigious Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Scholarship Program.

Among the successful UPCAT passers were Christian Jade Octaviano, NiΓ±a Ayessa C. Dacut, Wyn Christian S. Figueroa, and Kyr Aladdin O. Baysa, all from Grade 12 STEM-Einstein. They were joined by Juan Paulo Caboral of Grade 12 STEM-Newton and Lavinia Rich Jabonete of Grade 12 ABM-Pacioli.

Meanwhile, Christian Jade Octaviano and Kurt Russel Condes of Grade 12 STEM-Newton successfully qualified for the DOST Scholarship Program, a highly competitive scholarship that supports students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The achievement of these learners reflects their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence. Their success also highlights the collective efforts of their teachers, parents, and the school community in providing guidance and support throughout their educational journey.

Passing the UPCAT opens opportunities for admission to the University of the Philippines System, one of the country's premier state universities, while the DOST Scholarship Program provides financial assistance and academic support to deserving students pursuing STEM-related courses in higher education.

As they prepare for the next chapter of their academic journeys, the school community celebrates their accomplishments and hopes that their success will inspire fellow learners to pursue their aspirations with determination and hard work.

Their achievement stands as a testament to the growing culture of excellence at Calbiga National High School and serves as a source of pride for the entire school and community.

What's a pen without ink running through it? And what are pen and ink, if not for someone willing to move them across empty pages waiting for truth to be told?

People often see journalism as ink on paper, headlines on screens, and voices behind cameras. However, behind every story is a person willing to move through uncertainty just to uncover a piece of truth.

A pen without ink cannot write. Ink without a hand cannot move. And empty pages remain empty unless someone is brave enough to fill them.

That is the journey of a journalist.

To listen when others stay silent. To ask when answers are uncomfortable. To carry memories that might have otherwise been forgotten.

But no journey is ever walked alone.

To the juniors and teachers who followed behind us, thank you for becoming part of these pages too. Somewhere along the way, you became more than the people who simply came after usβ€” you became the people we shared last-second deadlines with, quiet stress before going to competitions, laughter when someone cracks a joke, and growth from the experience and memories we made along the way.

As we move forward into new chapters, this is not entirely a goodbye. It is simply our turn to hand over the pen.

Follow the paths we once took, but never feel confined to them. Create your own way of telling stories. Leave your own marks in places we never reached. Journalism was never meant to stay still, and neither should you.

May you continue asking questions with courage, writing with sincerity, and seeing people not just as stories, but as humans worth understanding.

And now, to my fellow senior journalistsβ€” thank you for spending your years turning blank pages into voices, moments, and truths people could hold onto. Thank you for carrying stories with passion even on days when the weight of them felt heavier than a pen weighed down by pending deadlines.

Wherever life leads us next, may our curiosity never fade, and may the words we leave behind continue to mean something long after we reach the 67th page.
