LAC Session 1: Reorientation on the Revised K-12 Curriculum and VE Lesson Exemplars
[July 23, 2025]

The first Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session for the School Year 2025–2026 was successfully held on July 23, 2025, with the Values Education (ValEd) teachers in attendance.

The session served as a reorientation on the implementation of the Revised K to 12 Curriculum, specifically focusing on the delivery of Values Education using the updated lesson exemplars.

The session was designed to align the ValEd teachers with the recent curriculum revisions and to set a clear direction for the LAC Plan for the entire school year. It provided an opportunity for participants to understand the necessary adjustments in pedagogy and content while promoting collaboration and reflective practice among teachers.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Dorica Faerie M. Echavez, with Mrs. Angelika C. Ybañez serving as the documenter. The resource speaker, Mr. Edgardo A. Bariquit, thoroughly discussed the salient points of the revised curriculum and walked the participants through sample Values Education lesson exemplars.

A dynamic and meaningful exchange of insights followed the presentation, as teachers engaged in collaborative planning and raised relevant questions concerning content delivery, values integration, and learner-centered strategies.

This LAC session marks the start of a year-long professional development journey, anchored on continuous improvement and shared commitment to holistic education through values formation. The collective goal remains clear: to produce learners who are not only academically competent but also morally grounded.

A Calinan NHS’ Values Education Department’s Prayer for the School Year

Heavenly Father,

As we welcome this new school year, we come before You as one community (students, teachers, staff, and parents) united in our shared mission to nurture minds and shape hearts.

Bless our learners, Lord. Guide them not only in gaining knowledge, but in growing in character, kindness, and integrity. May every lesson they encounter bring them closer to becoming responsible and compassionate individuals.

Grant wisdom and strength to all teachers and school personnel. In every word we speak and action we take, may we be models of the values we hope to instill respect, empathy, honesty, and faith.

We pray for our school, that it may be a place where every child feels safe, seen, and supported. May it be a home of truth, discipline, and love.

We also lift up the parents and guardians, our partners in this calling. Bless them with patience, understanding, and grace as they guide their children through life’s many lessons.

Lord, may this year be a year of growth, unity, and purpose. May Your light shine through all we do, and may we never lose sight of the greater reason behind our roles to bring out the best in every human soul.

Our school leaders and teachers are preparing for another exciting school year. This preparation is not only due to Brigada Eskwela taking place a week before classes begin, but we have also set our minds on the start of the 2025-2026 school year, which begins in June.

To our teachers, this is another opportunity to impart valuable lessons and values to your students. This is your chance to demonstrate that you are not just teachers but also motivators and mentors. You are here to celebrate the rewards of teaching, to respect each learner's uniqueness, and to witness the growth and development of every student.

To our learners, now is the perfect time to discover new lessons and explore new opportunities. This is a great time to learn from your teachers and classmates and to explore your strengths, allowing yourselves to grow.

To our school leaders, you face the challenge of ensuring your school is known and remembered for its positive impact. Your school has earned its reputation for many good reasons, and it is recognized for the excellent outcomes reflected in the lives and values of learners.

Let us unite with a shared goal: providing learners with quality basic education. While the term "quality" can be broad, we can understand it as creating memorable learning experiences for our students.

Students should appreciate the teaching methods of their educators, enjoy the school facilities-whether old or new-and recognize that school policies are in place for their benefit. It is essential for families and the community to be involved in this process.

As we strive for a better school year, let us aim for greater achievements. Let's put the Davao Region prominently on the map. Together, let's work for the benefit of our younger generation and make education a collective endeavor.

Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan mula sa Values Education Department ng Calinan NHS!

Sa araw na ito, ipinagdiriwang natin hindi lamang ang kasarinlan ng ating bayan kundi pati na rin ang mga pagpapahalagang Pilipino na patuloy nating isinasabuhay tulad na lamang ng paggalang, katapatan, kababaang-loob, at pagmamahal sa bayan.

Nawa’y maging inspirasyon sa atin ang mga bayani ng nakaraan upang maging mabubuting mamamayan sa kasalukuyan. Ang tunay na kalayaan ay nasusukat sa ating kakayahang gumawa ng tama, mamuhay ng may dangal, at maglingkod nang tapat sa kapwa at bayan.
