Types of Fl**ges used in Piping System

Socket Weld Fl**ge

Use: For small diameter, high-pressure piping.

Connection: The pipe is inserted into a recessed area of the fl**ge and then welded around the hub.

Advantage: Good for small pipes where internal welding isn’t easy.

Slip-On Fl**ge

Use: Common in low-pressure applications.

Connection: The pipe slides into the fl**ge before being welded both inside and outside.

Advantage: Easy to align and install.

Weld Neck Fl**ge

Use: Ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature systems.

Connection: Welded directly to the pipe, with a long tapered hub for stress distribution.

Advantage: Very strong and reduces stress at the base of the fl**ge.

Blind Fl**ge

Use: Used to close the end of piping systems or pressure vessel openings.

Connection: Bolted in place without any pipe inside.

Advantage: Allows for easy access for inspection or maintenance.
