MAYNILA, Pilipinas — Nanawagan ang Aksyon Eleksyon 2025, isang independiyenteng inisyatiba ng kabataang Pilipino na nagtataguyod ng pananagutan, katapatan, at katarungan, sa lahat ng botante sa bansa na huwag suportahan ang mga kandidatong ang rekord at asal sa publiko ay salungat sa mga prinsipyo ng mabuting pamamahala, integridad, at paggalang sa karapatang pantao.
Bilang mga tagapagmana ng kinabukasan ng bayan, may mahalagang papel ang kabataan sa pagtutulak ng direksiyon ng demokrasya sa Pilipinas. Sa papalapit na Halalan 2025, hinihimok ng Aksyon Eleksyon 2025 ang lahat ng botante—lalo na ang mga kabataan at unang beses na boboto—na maging mapanuri, manindigan para sa pananagutan, at tanggihan ang mga kandidatong may kasaysayan ng hindi etikal, tiwali, o mapang-abusong pag-uugali sa serbisyo publiko.

Partikular na pinangalanan ng grupo ang mga kandidatong hindi karapat-dapat ihalal. Isa na rito si Camille Villar, isang miyembro ng matagal nang umiiral na dinastiyang pampulitika ng pamilya Villar. Ang kanyang kandidatura ay sumisimbolo sa pagpapatuloy ng konsentrasyon ng kapangyarihang pampulitika sa iisang pamilya, isang isyung matagal nang pinupuna sa bansa. Bukod dito, binatikos din siya kaugnay ng mga isyu sa mataas na singil at di-maayos na serbisyo ng Prime Water, na nagdulot ng paghihirap sa maraming komunidad sa bansa pagdating sa abot-kayang tubig—isang pangunahing karapatang hindi dapat gawing negosyo.
Isinunod ng grupo si Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, na pangunahing tagapagpatupad ng madugong “war on drugs” sa ilalim ng administrasyong Duterte. In a unified call for justice and accountability, the complainants behind the first impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte—along with progressive political parties, social movements, sectoral organizations, and religious leaders—will urge the House of Representatives to fulfill its constitutional mandate. The group will demand urgent action on the impeachment complaints filed against Vice President Duterte, asserting that the citizens have done their part by filing these complaints. It is now up to Congress to uphold accountability and good governance by acting decisively.

The event will also serve as a strong call on the public to safeguard the nation’s coffers from further plunder and abuse by condemning the Vice President’s gross misuse of confidential and intelligence funds, as well as the grave budget misappropriations in the recently passed national government budget.

Organizers expect at least 5,000 participants to attend. Among the prominent figures and groups leading this call to action are: Tindig Pilipinas, Akbayan Partylist and its House Representative, Perci Cendaña, endorser of the first impeachment complaint, ML Partylist leader Third Nominee Erin Tañada, Magdalo Partylist Second Nominee Eugene Gonzales, Father Robert Reyes, Father Flavie Villanueva, SVD, Kiko Aquino Dee, Sonny Matula of the Nagkaisa Labor Coalition, leaders from SIKLAB, Kalipunan, Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP), ASAP, Akbayan Youth, and many more.

The event will feature a mass, testimonials from the impeachment complainants, statements from key political and sectoral leaders, cultural presentations, and a collective call for transparency and justice. The gathering will highlight the critical role of an engaged citizenry in holding public officials accountable for their actions.

Afterwards, a concert rally will commence at the Edsa Shrine at 2:00 PM organized by the Citizens and Clergy for Good Governance (CCGG).

STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

Some quarters, including a former president, have maliciously peddled fake news about President Marcos having signed the GAA of 2025 with certain parts of the enactment purposely left blank to enable the administration to simply fill in the amounts like in a blank check.

The peddling of such fake news is outrightly malicious and should be condemned as criminal. No page of the 2025 National Budget was left unturned before the president signed it into law.

All 4,057 pages of its two thick volumes (which were printed in fine print — with nearly sixty lines on each page) were exhaustively reviewed by hundreds of professional staff from Congress and the Department of Budget and Management.

This meticulous line-by-line scrutiny is a pre-enactment check performed by dedicated civil servants to ensure that the GAA contained no single discrepancy in the amounts being appropriated.

It is impossible for any funding items to be left blank, as alleged by misinformed and malicious sources.

The true facts and the printed figures appearing in the GAA easily debunk the malicious claims of deliberate blanks being left for filling in.

Anyone who conducts the same rigorous examination of the 2025 National Budget — which the public can view on the DBM website — will come to the same conclusion: that there is no program, activity, or project at all with blank appropriations in that carefully vetted law.

The former president and his cohorts should know better that the GAA could not contain blank items.
