Habi ng Wika, Hibla ng Hinaharap

May mga panahong ang kaalaman ay kailangang hanapin sa makakapal na aklat, sa mahabang oras ng pagbabasa, at sa mga pahinang unti-unting naninilaw dahil sa panahon. Ngayon, sapat na ang ilang kataga at isang pindot upang makuha ang impormasyong minsang inabot ng maghapon bago matagpuan. Ganito binago ng Artificial Intelligence (AI) ang mukha ng pagkatuto, mabilis, malawak, at halos walang hanggan.

Ngunit sa gitna ng ingay ng mga algorithm at mga makinang patuloy na natututo, may isang tinig na hindi dapat malunod: ang wikang Filipino.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026, tangan ang temang "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon," ipinapaalala na ang teknolohiya ay hindi dapat maging hangganan ng ating pagkatao, kundi maging daan upang higit pang mapalalim ang pag-unawa sa sariling wika at kultura.

Marami ang nangangambang baka tuluyang mapalitan ng artipisyal na intelihensiya ang talino ng tao. Ngunit ang katotohanan ay nananatiling payak: kayang magbigay ng sagot ng makina, ngunit tao pa rin ang nagbibigay ng saysay. Kayang magsalin ng mga salita ang teknolohiya, ngunit hindi nito ganap na maisasalin ang damdaming nakapaloob sa bawat "po," "opo," at "bayanihan." Hindi nito mararamdaman ang bigat ng "hinagpis," ni ang pag-asang nakatago sa salitang "pagbangon."

Sa pananaliksik, nagiging tulay ang AI upang mas mapadali ang pagkuha ng impormasyon. Ngunit ang tunay na pananaliksik ay hindi nagtatapos sa pagkolekta ng datos. Nagsisimula ito sa pagtatanong, lumalalim sa pagsusuri, at nagwawakas sa paglikha ng bagong kaalaman. Dito nananatiling mahalaga ang wikang Filipino, sapagkat ito ang wikang nakauunawa sa karanasan ng mga Pilipino, sa mga kuwentong hindi kayang isalin nang buo ng anumang programa.

Kung ang AI ang barkong naglalayag sa malawak na karagatan ng impormasyon, ang wikang Filipino ang nagsisilbing timon. Maaari tayong dalhin ng teknolohiya sa iba't ibang direksiyon, ngunit ang wika ang nagpapaalala kung saan tayo nagmula at kung saan tayo nararapat makarating.

Sa bawat salitang isinusulat, bawat pananaliksik na isinasagawa, at bawat ideyang ibinabahagi gamit ang sariling wika, hindi lamang impormasyon ang naipapasa. Naipapamana rin ang pagkakakilanlan.

Sapagkat sa panahong ang hinaharap ay unti-unting isinusulat ng mga makina, ang wikang Filipino ang patuloy na magpapaalala na ang puso ng kaalaman ay hindi matatagpuan sa artipisyal na intelihensiya, kundi sa katalinuhang marunong magmahal sa sariling wika.

This morning, (5:00AM) the tropical storm Maymay continues to affect parts of Metro Manila including Caloocan City, bringing periods of moderate to heavy rainfall, strong winds, and the possibility of flooding and landslides may pose risks to public safety.

As the weather disturbances may intensify without much notice, the school community of AHS is reminded to remain alert and take all necessary precautions. This Afternoon, (5:00PM) the tropical storm maymay has weakened into a tropical depression. Despite its weakening, the weather disturbance continues to bring moderate to heavy rains, strong winds, and hazardous weather conditions over several areas in Caloocan City including the other parts of the Philippines, increasing the risk of flooding, rain-induced landslides, and other weather-related incidents. Motorists are urged to stop and be safe due to reduce visibility and slippery road conditions.
