Today we celebrate Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria, a nobleman turned priest who gave up a promising career in medicine to heal souls instead of bodies. Inspired by his loving and faithful mother, young Anthony grew up with a deep love for prayer and the poor. As a doctor, he cared for the sick and taught children the faithโbut soon realized that bringing people closer to God was his true calling. His heart burned for Jesus and for the salvation of souls! ๐๐
As a priest, Saint Anthony didnโt stop at preachingโhe started a movement! He formed the Barnabites and helped found the Angelic Sisters of St. Paul, both committed to prayer, charity, and spreading the Gospel like Saint Paul did. He also brought new life to the Church by encouraging people to pray during the Forty Hours Devotion and remember Jesus' Passion every Friday at 3 PM. Though he died young, his impact was huge, and his incorrupt body is a sign of his holiness.
