When God Speaks

When God Speaks Listen! God speaks! "How can we recognize the voice of God?"

This question has been asked by countless people throughout the ages.

Samuel heard the voice of God, but did not recognize it until he was instructed by Eli (1 Samuel 3:1–10). Gideon had a physical revelation from God, and he still doubted what he had heard to the point of asking for a sign, not once, but three times (Judges 6:17–22,36–40). When we are listening for God’s voice, how can we know that He is the one speaking? First of all, we have something that Gideon

and Samuel did not. We have the complete Bible, the inspired Word of God, to read, study, and meditate on. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16–17). When we have a question about a certain topic or decision in our lives, we should see what the Bible has to say about it. God will never lead us contrary to what He has taught in His Word (Titus 1:2). To hear God's voice we must belong to God. Jesus said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Those who hear God’s voice are those who belong to Him—those who have been saved by His grace through faith in the Lord Jesus. These are the sheep who hear and recognize His voice, because they know Him as their Shepherd. If we are to recognize God’s voice, we must belong to Him. We hear His voice when we spend time in Bible study and quiet contemplation of His Word. The more time we spend intimately with God and His Word, the easier it is to recognize His voice and His leading in our lives. Employees at a bank are trained to recognize counterfeits by studying genuine money so closely that it is easy to spot a fake. We should be so familiar with God’s Word that when someone speaks error to us, it is clear that it is not of God. While God could speak audibly to people today, He speaks primarily through His written Word. Sometimes God’s leading can come through the Holy Spirit, through our consciences, through circumstances, and through the exhortations of other people. By comparing what we hear to the truth of Scripture, we can learn to recognize God’s voice.

“Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from heaven; praise him in the heights above! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly armies! Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, highest heavens, and the waters above the heavens!

God constantly encourages us to trust Him when we face the unknown. "I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron: and I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, which call you by your name, am the God of Israel."

God desires our welfare. His plan for us is always good, and through His power He brings it to pass. What do we lack? Surely we are the most favored among all creation.

You may be saying, it’s another year and God hasn’t fulfilled any of the promises. God will. How He will do it may be hidden from us. But believe me, He is working behind the scenes, it will come to light very soon. Fear not!

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12) Prayer: Loving Father, You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Bless our nation, Father! Today, I am praying for my nation and for all who live in it. Bless the people of this land and reveal Yourself to them. May they truly repent and turn to You. Give all the rulers and authorities Your knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Help them to fear You and honour You. Let them also render justice to our people. Rid our Land of this pandemic.Heal our Land. Let Your righteousness fill our nation. Let Your peace rule our nation. Let Your justice be established in our nation. Pour out Your Spirit upon Your people. Shower Your blessings on every one of us in this nation today and forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you by the renewing your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2

The pressure today is to conform, to the culture, the traditions that surround us. You may say, "Isn't it better to mingle with the crowd and just get along?" But God calls us to stand out. How do we do that? By filling our mind with God's word and letting Him transform us so that we will know what exactly He wants us to do, how exactly He wants us to live. He Himself will give us the strength and courage to live such a life that will bring glory and honour to His Name.

There are times when you are in a place where there is nothing you can do about the situation you are in. The only thing you can do is rely upon God for what you need. This was the case with the Israelites. Pharaoh and his army went after the Israelites to bring them back to Egypt. The Israelites were in no position to fight the Egyptian army. With the Egyptians on one side and the Red Sea on the other, the Israelites were trapped in what seemed to be an impossible situation. You know how the story ended; God opened the Red sea and defeated the Egyptian army and rescued His people.

The Lord Jesus is on your side.

Only be still, He will fight the battle for you! Exodus 14:14.

Proverbs 21:13 says, “He who shuts his ear to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be answered.’ What this implies is, God deals with us according the measure of compassion and love we show to the needy and poor He has place around us. Are we sensitive to the need of our maids, the gardeners who work for us, the widow struggling to make ends meet?

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward them for what they have done. Proverbs 19:17

It takes a heart of compassion to show kindness to the poor and needy. If you are struggling in this area ask the Lord to help you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me a heart of compassion to reach out and help those in need. Amen

Jesus had a simple request for Peter, James, and John in the Garden of Gethsemane, and that was to watch and pray ( Matthew 26:41). But they were sleeping instead of praying.
I think the disciples' lack of prayer resulted in fear due to which they abandoned their Saviour and friend. . Think about it: Sometimes we too can be overwhelmed by the circumstances around us, that it's hard for us to even pray. It's been said that if your knees start knocking, kneel on them.
Jesus knew that a crisis was coming. Certainly the disciples could see that He was in obvious anguish. All Jesus was asking from Peter, James, and John was "Just watch and pray. JESUS knew that the disciples would yield to the temptation of the evil one But twice when Jesus went back to check on them, they were sleeping.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, "Pray without ceasing."Has your prayer life been lacking lately? Begin to do what you did at first. Go to the Lord in prayer. You need Him now more than ever.
