Official announcements on class and work suspensions come ONLY from the DILG, the Office of the President, LGUs, DepEd, and other concerned agencies, and are released through their verified websites and social media pages.

In view of Memorandum Circular No. 94 issued by the Office of the President of the Philippines, and consistent with the directive of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) upon the recommendation of the NDRRMC on the suspension of classes and work tomorrow, August 26, 2025, due to forecasted heavy rainfall, the same information is hereby disseminated across all ESSU Campuses.

In addition, all online classes in ESSU Main Campus are likewise suspended to ensure the well-being of students, faculty, and staff during this time.

Everyone is strongly advised to take precautionary measures, remain indoors as much as possible, and stay tuned to official announcements for further updates.

With the theme “𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮-𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴-𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗱!”, Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) proudly celebrated 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 in a program filled with 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

The celebration opened with the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺, followed by the 𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨 𝗛𝘆𝗺𝗻 and 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗛𝘆𝗺𝗻, setting the tone for an event that highlighted 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

In his heartfelt 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗼 𝗔. 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗼, 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, shared an inspiring thought:

One of the most 𝗲𝘆𝗲-𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 of the program was the 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼, where students walked the stage wearing 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 from different 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀—𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮. Each outfit told a story of heritage and pride, turning the stage into a living showcase of Southeast Asian culture.

The event concluded with the 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 and the 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗧. 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀, Head of Internationalization, who emphasized the deeper meaning of the celebration:

Eastern Samar State University Can-avid Class of 2025 participated in the university’s 60th Commencement Exercises on June 14, 2025, with the theme, “𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑻𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆, 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏-𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈.”

University Board Secretary Dr. Debbie Joyce R. Voloso officially opened the exercises. Campus Administrator Dr. Geronimo A. Ellado then introduced the commencement speaker, newly elected Eastern Samar Governor Hon. Ralph Vincent M. Evardone.

Governor Evardone’s address resonated deeply with the graduates. He emphasized that graduation is not merely about receiving a diploma but about embracing the potential inherent in youth. “Today isn’t just about getting a diploma,” he stated, “it’s about what you carry with you. Not just your degree, but your youth.” His words inspired the graduates to recognize their own capabilities as they embark on their careers.

The 60th Commencement Exercises marked a significant milestone, not just an ending. The 550 ESSUC graduates, equipped with knowledge and experience, are now poised to make meaningful contributions to the nation and the world.

60𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀: 𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗮𝗻-𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 2025

The 60th Pre-Commencement Exercises of Eastern Samar State University Can-avid Batch 2025, held on June 13, 2025, at the ESSUC Gymnasium, marked six decades of academic excellence.

The ceremony began with a Mass, attended by graduating students seeking blessings for their success. The formal program commenced with a processional of deans, faculty, the campus administrator, and the guest speaker, Dr. Vicente Agda Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Magna Cum Laude graduate Jimlyn Joy M. Diestro from BS Agriculture, gave an inspiring speech to her fellow graduates. This was followed by an equally inspiring speech from Dr. Agda, who delivered his message in a unique way by walking among the graduating students, forging an unforgettable and intimate bond. He left the graduates with this powerful reminder: “𝑨𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓, 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕.”

The ceremony concluded with the triumphant distribution of diplomas, each graduate receiving one on stage to the warm applause of family and friends.
